The film "University" presents the important life transitions that the four characters have undergone between 2018 and 2020. Yan Yunzhou, a candidate who had just passed his 18th birthday, was admitted to his favorite university after passing the college entrance examination and twists and turns; Song Yuntian, a doctoral graduate of the Department of Water Conservancy, waved away the ivory tower and experienced some difficult choices to strengthen his ideal of "benefiting the people on one side"; Cai Zheng, a "Hubble scholar" who had been in the United States for ten years, joined the department of astronomy and brought back a bold attempt to "look up at the stars"; Academician Qian Yi of the School of the Environment ushered in her honorary retirement ceremony at the age of 83, but she still worked on the three-foot podium and kept walking.

Directors Sun Hong, Wang Jing and Ke Yongquan are all graduates of the School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University, and the creative team is mostly teachers, students and alumni of Tsinghua University. "University" is 110 minutes long, which is a family letter from Tsinghua students to celebrate the 110th anniversary of their alma mater.
The film condenses the daily campus of Tsinghua University into images, vividly interprets the motto of Tsinghua University "Self-Improvement, Virtue and Carrying Goods" from the perspective of ordinary people, and conveys the spirit and mission of the University. This is a sentiment of the three directors for their alma mater.
