On May 1st, I had a sudden idea and wanted to go to Wei County to see the ancient town of Nuanquan, because I wanted to see the flowers during the Spring Festival, and I was worried that many people did not go to Cheng. It is my usual style to walk and go, immediately set off, all the way west through mentougou district, over the Lingshan Mountain, and then to Hebei Province.
After passing through Wei County, the navigation led me into a rural route, and after walking for a long time, I wanted to pull over and rest. On the side of the road is a village where sheep herders come out from time to time. Curious about the sheep, I went into the village.
In the village, there is an old but renovated stage, and in front of the stage, there is a group of elderly people sitting or standing together and chatting, and an elderly person carrying a small piglet. The wall of the stage is written irregularly with some place names and mobile phone numbers, presumably advertising for long-distance buses.

During the Ming Dynasty (1573-1619 AD), when the Zhou surname built a fort, there was a Zhoujiazhuang Fort, and later with the increase of population, a new fort was built on the north side of the fort, called Zhoujiazhuang North Fort. The original old fort was called Zhoujiazhuang South Fort.
The village, usually a high wall built by the village to prevent robbers from ringing horses, is mostly made of mud, usually two or three feet high. In order to facilitate the villagers' access, there are door openings in different parts of the wall, and gates are installed in the door openings, which will be closed at night. Such walled walls are usually built in the Ming dynasty or Qing dynasty.

The specific year in which the wall of Zhoujiazhuang was built, there is no record on the door of the village, and I did not ask the old people who were chatting, and it is estimated that I could not answer the question.
I remember when I was young, there was no wall in the village, but my family would say that so-and-so village had a walled wall, and it was estimated that there were many people in that village and there was money, and it would be targeted by robbers.

The village texts record that the height of the wall was two or three inches when it was built, and it is estimated that it was at least 7-8 meters, but due to the erosion of wind and rain and the disrepair and man-made destruction, the height of the wall in my memory was only 4-5 meters high at most. Although it is not high, but because the village is located in the plain, because of my young age, I do not have a little concept of mountains or highlands, when I was in elementary school, I wrote down the sentence "On Saturday, I turned over the hillside to go to my grandmother's house...", and I clearly remembered that the teacher's comment was "There is really no mountain near us, and we have to climb the mountain at least 100 kilometers away...", and I was depressed for a long time. The exit of the wall has a wide walled door, I heard the old man say that the original village door has a thick wooden gate, there is a hercules in the family responsible for the protection of the walled door, about before the liberation there is only the village gate, the thick village door is estimated to let who the family as firewood to burn! My home is at the east end of the village, 4-50 meters away from the wall, which has become a place for my childhood play and "adventure". There is a smooth slope on the south side of the gate, this slope has become a "slide" for small partners, but it can't slide a few times, the pants are torn, and if you don't pay attention to the ass, you will hang up the color, and you will inevitably be beaten by adults. The wall is full of wild grasses, wolfberry trees and other bushes, adults rarely go to this kind of place to hang out, and we little friends take this as a good place, picking goji berries, catching hares, digging bird nests... In the summer night, take this place as a "summer sanctuary", but be careful when resting, so big red or black ants often drill into the ears, can only cry and go home and kill the ants with sesame oil dripping into the ears. In recent years, with the increase of the population of the village and the excavation of the earth, 80% of the wall has disappeared, and the childhood playmate has also entered middle age, and can only meet occasionally during the New Year, chat politely, and the Chinese teacher at that time has been dead for several years...
