Saint originally referred to a person with a keen sense of hearing, and by extension a person who was proficient in a certain knowledge or skill and had great achievements, or some title or praise for an emperor. In the past five thousand years, there have been countless popular figures, but because of the second kind of being called saints, there are not a few. All kinds of religions, all kinds of schools, have their own identification of saints. The saints can also be distinguished according to categories, for example, there are eight recognized saints, that is, Wensheng, Wusheng, Yasheng, Poetry, Painting, Healing, Tea, and Wine.
So who are these eight holy distinctions? What kind of glorious past have they had?
First of all, Wen Sheng, this is a bit difficult to say, because people like Zhou Gong and Ouyang Xiu who have reached the extreme in a certain aspect can actually rank as Wen Sheng. But people recognize that it is not these two, the recognized wensheng is Confucius, and Confucius can be described as a well-known figure. His ideas have had a profound impact on China and the world, and the Confucian school he created was the orthodoxy of China's two-year history. In terms of thought, Confucius undoubtedly achieved the ultimate, and he was revered as the Saint of Heaven and Heaven when he was alive.
The second martial saint, recognized as Guan Yu, is the same as the status of Confucius. Similarly, there are many people fighting for martial saints, after all, it is not simple for any of the ten philosophies of the martial temple to take out. Among them, the most recognized is Guan Yu, whose ability is also needless to say, known as the enemy of ten thousand people. There have been countless brilliant achievements, killing Yan Liang before the battle, flooding the Seventh Army and shaking Huaxia. After Guan Yu's death, his prestige also reached its extreme, both in the imperial court and among the people.
The third Sub-Saint Mencius, a representative of the Confucian school before Xunzi after Confucius, was called Confucius and Called Confucius. The Confucian school and many representative figures, but he is the only one who can be called together with Confucius. Mencius's thought is also extremely influential, if Confucius's position in Chinese history is similar to the position of Socrates in Western history, then Mencius's position is equivalent to Plato's position. The fourth poet, Du Fu, was unhappy in the official arena all his life, but his achievements in poetry were few and far between.
His Three Officials, Three Distinctions, Chun Wang, and Denggao are all famous passages throughout the ages, and have had a profound impact on both Chinese and Japanese literature. Reading his poems can know his world, so it was called "poetic history" at that time, in addition to which he himself was revered as a poet. The fifth painter, Wu Daozi, was recruited into the court for his good painting, and he was good at many kinds. What characters, landscapes, birds and beasts, turtles, etc. are all in question, and they have been quite effective in the creation of murals for a long time, and have achieved outstanding achievements in the entire painting industry.
Each of his lines meets the requirements of the stylistic transmission, and each thread is full of rhythm, which is a creation of the previous generation. Since the Tang Dynasty, all the murals seen in China have the influence of Wu Daozi, and the Dunhuang murals are also not lacking in the Wu style. The sixth doctor, Zhang Zhongjing, is also famous in Chinese history, such as Bian Que Hua Tuo and so on. Among them, the most successful or recognized is Zhang Zhongjing, who has achieved great success in medicine.
The great work "On Typhoid Fever and Miscellaneous Diseases" is the first work in China, which establishes the medical focus of dialectical theory and treatment from theory to practice, and is a classic work necessary for later scholars to study Chinese medicine. The dialectical rule established in it is the basic principle of TCM clinical practice and the soul of TCM. The seventh tea saint Lu Yu, Lu Yu is not only a tea saint, but also a tea fairy and a tea god. From the many titles, we can see Lu Yu's achievements, he has been a lifelong tea lover and is proficient in this way.
After retreating into seclusion, he wrote three volumes of the Tea Classic, which devoted himself to all aspects of tea, which was the world's first tea monograph. Lu Yu began an era of tea and made outstanding contributions to the development of tea. The eighth wine Saint Dukang, nowadays people mention wine, Dukang is the one that has to be said. He was the ancestor of winemaking in ancient Chinese legends, and the "Records of History" recorded that he was also the monarch of the Xia Dynasty. Du Kang is very good at winemaking, and in the eyes of later generations, the name Du Kang is equivalent to wine, and the wine industry also regards him as a grandfather.
Interestingly, it is said that Dukan brewed wine, and his son made vinegar.
