Speaking of the two academicians, Li Lanjuan's former student Wang Baohong has four words to evaluate: "medical madman" How crazy, there are Li Lanjuan's own words as evidence: "Often he does surgery on the stage, I discuss problems in the laboratory, and it is common to get one or two o'clock in the middle of the night." ”

Arriving at the hospital on time at 8 a.m. every day and going home at one or two o'clock in the middle of the night is the norm for the academician couple. Although they work in the same hospital, the only time of day between the two of them is the little time between getting up and before they arrive at the hospital. "Breakfast is the only meal we both eat together in a day," Li Lanjuan said, and even so, they rarely discuss family chores, but more around things like "There is a patient who is critically ill, I want to give him an organ transplant today" and "There is an academic report to speak in the afternoon, and I fly to Beijing at noon."

Because there is a certain correlation in the main business of research, in the hospital, the couple sometimes contact by phone. When encountering liver failure patients who are still unable to be treated by artificial liver technology, she will transfer the patient to Zheng Shusen and ask him to consider liver transplantation; and when Zheng Shusen treats some patients with severe liver disease, he will also recommend them to try artificial liver treatment according to the condition. Referrals between husband and wife often make patients feel very lucky, because "suddenly there are two academicians to see themselves", and more reasonable symptomatic treatment plans have also enabled many patients to miraculously recover.

The wholehearted devotion to medical clinical and scientific research has created a different life model for this academician family than other ordinary families. All the chores in the family are handled by Li Lanjuan's elderly mother; the two sons are independent from primary school, and the eldest son plays the role of parent. "A childish child rides a bicycle, sits in the back seat with his brother, transporting him to school every day, rain or shine. This became a school landscape at the time. Li Lanjuan is both proud of her children and ashamed of not fulfilling her mother's responsibilities.

In addition to the fanatical work, the academician couple also has an unknown warmth and romance. On the day of the 40th anniversary of the marriage, the academician couple met with three or five relatives and friends for a simple meal. "You may not be able to imagine how our first wedding night went." Li Lanjuan smiled and shook the burden to everyone.

On May 1, 1975, Li Lanjuan and Zheng Shusen were officially married. They held a simple ceremony at home, and it was at this time that they suddenly received a phone call saying that Zheng Shusen's father was not in good health, and the couple rushed back overnight. Since there was no direct train to their hometown Longyou at that time, they stayed overnight at Jinhua Railway Station. "We put the covers on the ground and spent the first night of our wedding at the train station." Looking back, Li Lanjuan still remembers it vividly. "Although the conditions were harsh, the heart was very sweet."

Although they are busy at work, they have never forgotten to be filial to each other's parents. When Zheng Shusen was studying for a doctorate in Hong Kong, he happened to encounter her father-in-law's serious illness, Li Lanjuan was afraid that her husband would be distracted and did not dare to tell, so she quietly ran back and spent a whole week with the attendant, personally giving her father-in-law injections and hanging water, diagnosing and treating the disease, and feeding her father-in-law to eat her own carefully boiled porridge bite by bite, until all recovered. Li Lanjuan's mother fractured her two bones at the age of 90, which was a surgery performed by Zheng Shusen himself.

Outside of work, Li Lanjuan's biggest hobby is to watch movies and watch Yue opera, but after 40 years of marriage, she has never seen a movie in the cinema. Mr. Wu opera likes Wu opera, so Wu opera has become her biggest hobby. "Whenever I have time, I try to accompany him as much as possible, although I am late almost every time." Li Lanjuan said with a smile.

For her husband Zheng Shusen, Li Lanjuan did not hesitate to praise. "His hands are very skillful, skilled, a knife in surgery; he is more thoughtful at key moments, and he is also very relaxed about the management of the hospital; he is also very loving, because he was born in the cold, and when he encountered seriously ill patients from poor families, he often paid for himself, and he also tried his best to reduce medical expenses for patients..."

Of course, in Li Lanjuan's view, Mr. Li also has shortcomings: often can't find things at home, stir-fried vegetables do not put oil but only put water, when the pot is not waiting for the water to boil... Although she sometimes made fun of these things, she never really minded.

For his wife Li Lanjuan, Zheng Shusen is also full of praise: although he is not called a good wife and mother, he only cooks one meal a year in Chinese New Year's Eve, does not do any housework at home, and devotes his mind to work all day, but he has never blamed it. "We almost never quarrel," Said Mr. Zheng, who would wait for his wife to come home even later at night. "Perhaps only by being in the same boat countless times will there be today's mutual encounter."

When asked what the ideal state between husband and wife is, Li Lanjuan replied without hesitation: "Like-minded, mutual care; mutual support and mutual understanding." ”

Support each other and warm each other on the road of life. They will continue to walk like this.
