Academician Zheng Shusen has made outstanding achievements in the field of organ transplantation and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, and for the first time in the world, he has proposed the "Hangzhou Standard" for liver cancer liver transplant recipients and a new plan for the prevention and treatment of hepatitis B recurrence after transplantation. As of September 2020, more than 3,500 cases of liver transplantation have been successfully performed, and the survival rate of recipients has reached the international advanced level; over the years, it has been committed to the innovation and promotion and application of liver transplantation technology, and in 2010, the Chinese liver transplant team has gone abroad and successfully carried out 5 cases of living liver transplantation in Indonesia, which has won glory for the country and is highly praised as a milestone in organ transplant diplomacy. He served as the chief scientist of two "973 Program" projects in the field of organ transplantation, presided over the National Science and Technology Major Special Projects, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Key Projects, and the Development Program of the Jiang Scholar and Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education. He has published more than 600 papers, and is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases (INCLUDED BY SCI) and the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Transplantation (Electronic Edition).
