Poetic prose works pose a challenge to adaptation
Chief producer Zhang Ayi admitted that the biggest principle of adapting this project is to respect the original work, "Hello! The difficulty in adapting "Mother Adult" is to adapt the prose to a 500,000-word TV drama script.
For the challenge of adapting a poetic prose work into a TV series, screenwriter Gong Xue said that she first refused, but the producer convinced herself, and the most impressive thing about the original work was to record the daily small things in life, maybe to make a meal and watch a movie, but it is these small things that constitute our relationship with our mother.
