Our army's political work sprouted during the Period of the Great Revolution, was founded in the place where the army was founded, and was founded at the Gutian Conference. It has been continuously enriched and developed in the long-term practice of revolution, construction and reform. In November 2019, I accompanied the regional high-quality development research group of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National Academy of Administration) to Fuzhou, Ningde, Xiamen, Longyan, Gutian and other places in Fujian Province to investigate, at the site of the Gutian Conference and the memorial hall, I stood at the venue at that time, that is, under the courtyard in the middle of the ancestral hall, one after another Chairman Mao Zedong, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De, Marshal Chen Yi and other revolutionary leaders led the children and soldiers of workers and peasants to lead the local poor peasants to fight in the jiangshan, and the revolutionary predecessors had a hard time starting a business. The vivid image of the blue wisp of the road still haunts me to this day. It was during those two days of study and investigation in Gutian that I learned more from the mouths of local comrades why the Gutian Conference was called an important party meeting convened by the Red Army at the critical juncture of life and death. At that time, Comrades Mao Zedong, Zhu De, and Chen Yi led the main force of the Red Fourth Army down from Jinggangshan, and in the process of moving to gannan and western Fujian, a fierce debate occurred in the troops on the principle of army building. After the Eighth Party Congress of the Red Fourth Army, the Red Fourth Army failed to attack the Dongjiang River, and the troops were ideologically confused and demoralized, facing a severe test. According to the "September Letter from the Central Committee," the Red Fourth Army convened the Ninth Party Congress, corrected and eliminated all kinds of non-proletarian ideas that existed in the Party at that time, and formed the famous Gutian Conference resolution in the history of our Party and our army. This meeting established the Marxist principle of building the party and the army, established the principles, principles, and systems for our party's political work, and put forward the principle and direction for resolving the fundamental problem of building the army with the peasants as the main component into a new type of people's army of a proletarian nature.
As General Secretary Xi Jinping said at the all-army political work conference, "History can often be seen more clearly after time has been precipitated." In the Battle of the Xiangjiang River, they undertook the special and arduous tasks of fighting the front and serving as the rear guard, and fought bravely for the main force of the Red Army, the central organs, and the Central Military Commission organs to cross the Xiang River in victory and break through the fourth blockade line. The sons and daughters of Western Fujian once again used their lives to interpret the oath of "resolutely listening to the party's words and always following the party", and voted in favor of the Communist Party of China with loyalty and enthusiasm. The Gutian Conference was an important meeting held at a major historical moment of our army, and the resolutions adopted at the meeting were programmatic documents for the building of the Communist Party of China and the Red Army. It has solved a series of ideological and practical problems and laid a solid foundation for the gradual perfection of our military's ideological and political work. It enlightens us: to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education, we must highlight the status and role of ideological and political work and strengthen the consciousness of the first place; The content of education must be defined in a targeted manner and the focus of education must be highlighted; Educational methods and measures must be made flexible, concrete, and operational; It is necessary to improve the comprehensive quality of political work cadres and strengthen the building of the contingent.
