Nanjing, July 28 (Xinhua) -- The seventh round of the Chess Legend Star Game ended on the 28th, and the sluggish Chinese chess player Ding Liren lost three games to the Dutch number one chess player Ji Liren, and he who was at the bottom of the points had completely failed to advance to the knockout stage.

The Chess Legends Star Tournament is the fourth leg of the Carlson Chess Network Tour, with players including the third round-four – Norwegian world champions Carlson, Kiri, Ding Li and Russian chess player Nepomniacki, as well as six legendary chess masters. The tournament is divided into two stages: the preliminary round and the knockout round. The preliminaries are a single round robin tournament with 4 quick games in each round, such as a draw and a sudden death quick chess match to determine the winner. The top four in the preliminary round enter three two-win knockout matches, at this stage if the fast chess is combined, two super fast games will be added, and if the autumn color is still equally divided, the sudden death fast chess overtime will be played.

Perhaps because of the jet lag, Ding Liren was extremely depressed in this competition, and only won one victory in the first six rounds. Kiri has just won a three-game winning streak and is in good shape, winning the first and third sets of this round, and the second set is a draw. With just three sets, Kiri won the game, ushering in a wave of four consecutive wins and successfully reached the top four. Ding Liren, who lost again, is currently at the bottom of the points and is impossible to enter the top four with only two rounds left.

In the rest of the round, Carlson continued to soar, still occupying the top spot after defeating Russian veteran Svedler. Nepomnyac is second in the round against Hungary's veteran Recco, who and Carlson have locked in the top four qualifications. India's veteran chess champion Anand defeated Israeli veteran Gailvander to win the tournament for the first time. Russia's veteran chess champion Kramnik lost to Ukrainian veteran Ivanchuk and temporarily finished fourth.

The tournament will end on August 5, after Carlson won twice and Russian chess player Dubov won the second tournament. (End)
