Haikou, 25 Sep (Xinhua) -- The 12th Danzhou Chess Grandmaster Super Tournament in Danzhou, Hainan, China, ended the last three rounds of competition on 25 September. China's Ding Liren stood out with 5.5 points, winning the championship for the third time after 2013 and 2014.

In the three rounds of the day, Ding Liren won 2 wins and 1 draw. In the fifth round of the competition, Ding Liren and the Bulgarian veteran Topalov, who led the race for two days, met in a narrow way, and at the critical moment, the latter made a mistake, and Ding Liren seized the opportunity to lock in the victory. After winning the hedge battle, Ding Liren, who was originally 0.5 points behind Topalov, overtook his opponent and jumped to the top of the table.

In the sixth round, Ding Liren held Hei Yi and his national team teammate Bu Xiangzhi. Topalov reversed the victory over Chinese chess player Wei Yi and tied the score. In the final round, Ding Li and Topalov welcomed Russian chess player Vichygov and world chess queen Ju Wenjun respectively. Ding Liren won smoothly, and Topalov and Ju Wenjun fought for 52 rounds in the endgame of the Heterochromatic Elephant Soldiers.

In the end, Ding Liren won the championship with 4 wins and 3 points and a total of 5.5 points. He became the first treble in the history of the tournament.

Topalov and Wei Yi scored 5 points together, the former won the second place with a straight win relationship, and Wei Yi ranked third. Vichygov ended up in fourth place with 3.5 points. Yu Yangyi, Bu Xiangzhi, Ju Wenjun, who made his debut in the tournament, and Hungary's Laporte finished fifth to eighth with 3, 2.5, 2 and 1.5 points respectively.
