The river beach in Wugong Town begins on the seventh day of the first month of November in the lunar calendar every year and lasts for one day. It is said that this is the largest material exchange conference in the northwest region. The previous river beach will be large in scale, from the current bus station in the north, to the new 104 provincial highway in the south, to the east to the banks of the Qishui River, and to the west to the streets of Wugong Town. Since I remember when I was a child, there are two things that I have always looked forward to, one is the Spring Festival, and the other is the river beach party. The river beach will be a mother's show, and when it comes to the day of the meeting, the mother will get up early to cook and eat, and invite several neighbors in the village to go to the party. I remember that after 1980, the scene of people in the village visiting the meeting, after breakfast, on the road from the village to the river beach of Wugong Town, people were in groups of three or five, some carrying bags, which contained dry food prepared for noon, and some holding children. Most of them are walking, and they all ride bicycles when they have the conditions. It was about ten miles from our village to the river beach, and it was nearly an hour's walk, and my mother and neighbors talked and laughed along the way. In my memory, my mother and I didn't go to the meeting very often, only three or five times. Once when I was a child, at the meeting, my mother bought me a bowl of three cents of red meat boiled buns, eating very fragrant, my mother said that she was not hungry, I stupidly ate alone, my mother watched me eat, satisfied with a slight smile. In the last century, every year at the meeting, my mother had to buy cloth, especially before the 1980s, my mother had to buy a lot of cloth at the meeting, make clothes for our family, clothes for all year rounds, cotton clothes and cotton pants, coats for spring and autumn, single shoes and cotton shoes, and underwear and underwear. It can be said that in addition to the socks, the rest of the body is worn by the mother from procurement to unloading to processing, and these are all made by the mother in her spare time. The soles of the shoes are machined into backs from old clothes, dried and processed, and in the warm winter sun, on the hot kang head, the mother wears a thimble to hold the sole. Sometimes when I accidentally pricked my finger, my mother didn't say a word. When I was in elementary school, how many times I woke up in the middle of the night, I saw my mother sitting on the loom, wearing a shuttle. One day this summer, when I came home to sort out my things, I found two large boxes of cloth shoes, both brand new, which my mother made before she died. This year's river beach meeting has begun again, and there are already very few people selling cloth, mostly ready-to-wear. Looking at the variety of clothes at the meeting, I couldn't help but think of my mother, of my mother pulling the cloth, of my mother sitting in front of the sewing machine making clothes for our family.
