How did this foundation, which originally belonged to another family, become a Zeng family?
This has to start with Zeng Guofan's grandfather Zeng Yuping.

If it wasn't for what happened later, no matter how hard Zeng Yuping tried, the Zeng family would just be a rich man.
That year, Zeng Guofan's father, Zeng Linshu, was fourteen years old, and the Zeng family had a lawsuit with a squire surnamed Liu in Xiangxiang because of a homestead. The lawsuit requires someone to write a complaint, and the Zeng family is a group of mud-legged people who can't read Ding, so Zeng Yuping went to find an old Xiucai and asked Lao Xiucai to help write the complaint. Zeng Yuping not only lost the lawsuit and had no homestead, but also lost dozens of taels of silver to others, and what was even more infuriating was that he was ridiculed by the squire at the gate. Later, he learned that the two sons of the squire family were xiucai, and even the county lord had to give face, and this lawsuit had actually been lost before it was fought.
Zeng Yuping, who returned home, was seriously ill, and after recovering from his illness, he made an amazing move, that is, to save money and economy, and invite Mr. Private School from outside to teach his three sons to read.
The homestead had been taken away, and he had to find another homestead.
On this day, he came to the foot of a mountain, only to see that the mountain was majestic, the mountain was beautiful, there were families on the hillside building houses and beams, the master's family sighed while burning incense, Zeng Yuping came forward to ask what was going on?
The host family replied that this homestead was originally a vegetable field, and his family had built a house here for several months, saying that it was strange that either the wall collapsed for no reason, or the door beam that had just been put on collapsed, so after several months of tossing, the house was still not built.
Zeng Yuping heard the other party say this, so he offered to buy this land, the host family was worried about it, seeing that Zeng Yuping's price was not bad, he sold it to him.
Therefore, Zeng Yuping hired someone to build a house here, and strangely, others built walls and collapsed, but his family smoothly built seven or eight rooms, and there was nothing at all. The family chose a good day to move in, and after moving in, the family road became more and more prosperous. At first, it was not called "White Jade Hall", so how did "White Jade Hall" come about? It turned out to be related to a feng shui gentleman who passed by here.
