Based on the novel The White Guard by the Russian writer Bulgakov, the play premiered in 1926 at the Moscow Art Theatre under the direction of Stanislavsky, and this time director Grigory Koz and the Mastkhaya Theatre brought a new interpretation. As one of the "War Trilogy" of the Russian Mastkhaya Theatre, "The Fate of the Turbin Family" premiered on November 1, 2013, along with "Quiet Don" and "Here the Dawn Is Quiet", receiving numerous accolades. The play has won the "2016 Voice of History" and "Best Performing Group" at the International Theatre Festival, with a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes. It mainly tells the fate of the White Guard intellectuals during the Russian Civil War, and shows the pain caused by the war to the people in a panoramic way.
It is reported that the director of the play, Grigory Koz, is the artistic director of the Mastkhaya Theater in St. Petersburg, a meritorious artist of the Russian Federation, a state prize winner and a professor at the St. Petersburg State Academy of Dramatic Arts, and has successfully directed 15 theatrical works, including Wanbilov's "Eldest Son", "The Return of the Idiot" based on Dostoevsky's "Idiot", Bitov's "Penelope", Sholokhov's "Quiet Don", Bulgakov's "The Fate of the Turbin Family", Rasputin's "Alive", And remember" and so on. Among them, "Quiet Don River" was staged at the Harbin Grand Theatre during May 1 this year and was a great success, triggering a large number of "trolley box" audiences to watch the drama. At present, "The Fate of the Turbin Family" is in intensive preparation.
