What happened later, everyone knows, the younger brother Su Rui's worries have been fulfilled in the end, Su Shi, the big horn with no cover, has finally put on a big deal - the Wutai poetry case, and has been arrested and imprisoned.

During Su Shi's imprisonment, his eldest son, Su Mai, delivered food to him every day. The father and son agreed that they would usually only send meat and vegetables, and if sentenced to death, they would send fish as letters.

At the juncture of life and death, even the most open-minded person cannot calm down. Su Shi thought that he had not listened to his brother's advice before, and he couldn't help but feel sad from it, and wrote two poems to Su Rui as his last words in tears:
The Holy Lord is like the spring of heaven and all things, and the little minister is foolish and secretly dead.
Paying off debts before a hundred years, ten mouths without return is even more tiring.
It is a green mountain that can bury bones, and he Chinese New Year's Eve rain alone to hurt god.
They are brothers with the king, and they are married to the cause of the next life.

After the jailer gave the poem to Su Rui, Su Ru cried when he saw the case, but refused to accept the poem. For he knew that the poem was of little value in his own hands, and that as long as it was brought back, according to the regulations, only a few words of the prisoners must be submitted to the highest authorities for consultation.
Therefore, the psalm was finally passed to the hands of The Divine Sect as Su Rui wished, and the emperor was greatly moved to see the words of brotherhood in the poem. Originally reluctant to kill Su Shi, this time there was an extra layer of intolerable heart.

In the fourth year of Shaosheng, the 60-year-old Su Shi was demoted to Hainan, and the 57-year-old Su Rui was demoted to Leizhou.

Three years later, Su Shi died of illness in Changzhou on his way back from haibei to the north. Not being able to meet his brother for the last time was his greatest pain before his death:

In his later years, Su Rui closed his doors, almost cut off all interpersonal contacts, and after many years of age, he chose to be buried with his brother.
Finally, in another form, they realized the agreement of "knowing the night of the wind and rain, and sleeping in this bed", and they will never be separated from each other again.
