New book released.

Academician Chen Zhu is the preface to this monograph. He wrote in the preface: "Adhering to the spirit of science, it is particularly important to sort out, think and summarize the medical experience and scientific progress of the fight against the epidemic in a timely, accurate and systematic manner, which will provide a scientific reference for human society to prevent and respond to future pandemic outbreaks." "In the face of the problem of virus traceability, countries around the world need to work together, take science as the basis, respect the professional knowledge and scientific data of scientists and medical scientists, find and clarify the true source and transmission law of the virus, and lay a theoretical foundation for the future formulation of scientific epidemic prevention strategies." The existing scientific evidence supports that the novel coronavirus comes from nature, and the cross-species spread from animals to humans is a long-term complex process. Moreover, retrospective studies in several countries have reported clues to infection with the virus in populations at the end of 2019. Therefore, traceability is a multidisciplinary and multi-country and multi-regional research topic, which requires the international medical science community to conduct research in the spirit of science and firmly exclude the interference of various non-scientific and irrational behaviors. Academician Chen Zhu stressed that the publication of this work can not only provide a reference for global epidemic prevention and control and scientific research, but also provide inspiration and thinking for responding to new pandemics that may occur in the future.

Dr. Gaudn Galea, WHO Representative in China, said in a video address that we must continue to learn and summarize the lessons of the past and work together to protect ourselves. Only by uniting can we control COVID-19. "China has accumulated a wealth of experience in fighting the epidemic, which has contributed to the global response. I'm very much looking forward to the publication of this book, which will tell us how we should respond to this epidemic and the challenges ahead." ”
