"Political Affairs News" (WeChat ID: zsenews) noted that five years ago, on December 10, 2012, at the first plenary session of the 15th Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party, Chen Zhu was elected chairman of the Central Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Party, and his position was minister of health.

Chen Zhu was born in August 1953 and is now 64 years old. His life history can be summarized in five sentences: self-taught barefoot doctors, the first batch of graduate students after the resumption of the college entrance examination, a well-known expert in the field of blood disease treatment and research, the youngest academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the first "non-party minister" after the reform and opening up.

In 1970, at the age of 16, Chen Zhu went to the countryside to join the team and became a barefoot doctor in Xinfeng County, Jiangxi Province, and used to light kerosene lamps and read medical books until late at night. After the resumption of the college entrance examination, he was admitted to the master's degree in hematology of the first department of the medical department of Shanghai Second Medical College with the second overall score and the first major in hematology, becoming the first batch of graduate students after the resumption of the college entrance examination.

On November 3, 1995, Chen Zhu was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the age of 42, the youngest academician in the Chinese medical community at that time. Five years later, due to his outstanding scientific performance, he was appointed vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In June 2007, Chen Zhu was appointed former minister of health at the age of 54, making him the first non-partisan person to serve as a constituent part of the State Council after the reform and opening up, and the second non-CCP person to serve as a government minister after Wan Gang.

In March 2013, Chen Zhu was elected vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and became a vice-state leader.

"Political Affairs News" (WeChat ID: zsenews) noted that since becoming the chairman of the Central Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Party in 2012, Chen Zhu has often led a team to investigate, and the research topic is often related to his old bank "medical treatment".

Just before the 16th National Congress of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party, on November 12, Chen Zhu led the research team of the Central Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Party on "Biomedical Industry Development" to Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, to carry out special research.

According to the official website of the Central Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Party, the survey is mainly around the investigation and discussion of the supply-side structural reform of promoting the development of the biomedical industry, especially the supply-side structural reform of the in vitro diagnostic industry.

During the investigation, Chen Zhu said: Health is the foundation of oneself, the foundation of a strong country, an important connotation of building a well-off society in an all-round way, and also the sustainable pursuit of the development and well-being of human society. It is necessary to conscientiously implement the requirements of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the implementation of the "Healthy China" strategy, establish the concept of great health and great health, continuously improve the national health policy, and provide the people with all-round and full-cycle health services.

In April last year, Chen Zhu also led a large inspection and research team of the Central Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Party to Shanghai and Henan to carry out a large-scale inspection with the theme of "promoting the reform of public hospitals through the 'three medical linkages' and coordinating the construction of new urbanization".

During the inspection, Chen Zhu said that in 2016, the Central Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Party decided to "promote the reform of public hospitals through the 'three medical linkages'" as the theme of the inspection, aiming to implement the clear responsibility of medical reform of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and solve the problem of public hospital reform through the "three medical linkage" reform.

"Political Affairs News" (WeChat ID: zsenews) noted that Chen Zhu said in an interview that his biggest dream is to let 1.3 billion Chinese have a cure for the disease, and has publicly stated, "When China can establish a high-level team of family doctors trusted by the masses, our medical reform can be said to be successful."
