Food that is not recommended to be kept in the refrigerator freezer
01 Tropical and subtropical fruits
Tropical fruits such as bananas, mangoes, and dragon fruits, if put directly in the refrigerator, will inhibit the release of ethylene, and may always be raw in the refrigerator, and there is no way to soften and sweeten.
This type of fruit is fine to leave at room temperature and eat it as soon as possible. If you really want to eat it chilled, just put it in the refrigerator a few hours in advance.
02 Potato vegetables
Such as cucumbers, winter melons, eggplants, sweet potatoes, green peppers, etc., are easy to cause freezing damage or accelerate spoilage when stored at low temperatures.
These fruits and vegetables can be stored in a dark and ventilated cardboard box at room temperature or in a relatively cool place.
03 Honey
The main component of honey is sugar, which can hardly survive microorganisms in a high osmotic environment, and can be stored for a long time at room temperature.
If you put it in the refrigerator, the honey will crystallize and precipitate glucose due to moisture. Although the nutritional value of honey is not lost, it will affect the taste.
04Dried food after opening
It is recommended not to put dried foods such as tea, coffee, and milk powder that have been opened in the refrigerator, because if the seal is not tight, it is easy to become damp and moldy, and the flavor in the refrigerator will also be mixed into the coffee and tea, affecting the flavor.
These dried foods, as long as they are moisture-proof and placed in a ventilated and dry place, can be stored for a long time.
Three ways to keep fruits and vegetables fresher
01 Dry barrier method
Green leafy vegetables are more suitable for storage in the refrigerator, before storage, you can use a paper towel to dry the surface moisture of the vegetable to inhibit the growth of bacteria, and then wrap it in plastic wrap to prolong the shelf life.
02 High temperature blanching method
Blanch the vegetables until they are half-cooked, pack them in an airtight bag and freeze them. Although the taste of the vegetables is lost, this can extend the freshness of the vegetables to 10~14 days.
03 Vacuum storage method
Put the vegetables in a vacuum tank, vacuum bag, or other container, and freeze it. On the premise of ensuring the taste, it can be kept fresh for a longer time.
