A 62-year-old work photo of Jiao Yulu, a work meeting born from Chinese medicine with apprentices, and a four-generation apricot forest inheritance that has adhered to a hundred years.

Through the long years, the heart of the world has never been dusty.

On May 12, in Lu Village, Caizhuang Town, Weishi County, a video reporter from Dahe Daily Yu found the descendants of Zhou Dacheng, an old Chinese medicine doctor in the photo. In the past hundred years, the four generations of traditional Chinese medicine people of the Zhou family have guarded the vein of inheritance one by one, and interpreted the original intention of their ancestors "Guangji" with one stroke and one stroke.

Walking into Lucun, the aroma of traditional Chinese medicine wafts out of a small courtyard with a plaque of "Guangjitang", which is the traditional Chinese medicine hall inherited by Zhou Dacheng's family for four generations.

Now sitting in the clinic is Zhou Dacheng's grandson Zhou Minsheng, the representative inheritor of the fifth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage "Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Method (Guangjitang Traditional Chinese Medicine Gynecology)" in Henan Province. Although he is also over the age of six, his eyes are still bright.

Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment is indispensable for looking, smelling, asking, and imperatively. Asking, is to communicate with the patient, but a few years ago due to cerebral infarction damaged the language nerves, Zhou Minsheng's voice was a little slurred, afraid that the patient could not hear clearly, his wife Sun Xuelan became his special translator, accompanied him to see and go to the doctor, and Sun Xuelan's translation was very accurate.

He said that you should pay attention to avoid eating this medicine. "Grab a few pairs of medicine first, adjust and see." Zhou Minsheng said a sentence, and Sun Xuelan translated a sentence.

On Zhou Minsheng's table, covered with a layer of glass, there are dozens of photos of Hundred Days Doll, which are very cute, some of them are yellow, and they look a little old. "These are all sent by patients, and if they see a good patient and have a child, they send us photos, and we are happy to see it." Zhou Minsheng said, opened the record book on the desk, and recorded the pulse cutting of the patient below, so that he could compare and adjust the prescription next time. Sun Xuelan pointed to the book and said, "With such a thick book, I have to write down one or two books every month." ”

This year's 68-year-old Zhou Minsheng insists on sitting in the clinic every day, and when there are many people, he has to see it at 10 o'clock at night to finish. The more evenings, weekends and holidays, the more crowded the hospital, and the hospital has no time to get off work, when to see the last patient, when to close. Sun Xuelan said, "I don't have a meal often, and I have to eat a meal until midnight, and sometimes I have to heat up a meal several times." ”

Asked if he was tired, Zhou Minsheng nodded, shook his head again, and pointed to the pennants hanging on the walls inside and outside the examination room, Kaifeng, Zhengzhou, and Pingdingshan...... Flags from different places all "speak" the same sentence - "Wonderful Hands and Benevolent Doctors".

"Look at this, and you won't get tired." Zhou Minsheng said.

The old Chinese medicine doctor Zhou Dacheng in the group photo once saw Jiao Yulu

"When I took the photo, my grandfather was 68 years old, and he was the same age as me this year." Zhou Minsheng said that he had always known that there was such a group photo, but this was the first time he had seen it.

Looking at the photo, Zhou Minsheng talked about the past in the mouth of the older generation. "Before I had this photo, my grandfather knew Secretary Jiao. A few years ago, Secretary Jiao worked in Caizhuang District, and became ill from hard work, and it snowed that winter, Secretary Jiao came by himself, and my grandfather treated him. Later, Secretary Jiao held a working meeting of old Chinese medicine, and my grandfather was invited to participate. ”

When the old Chinese medicine work meeting in the photo was held, Zhou Dacheng was already well-known and was a "famous Chinese medicine doctor" known in all ten miles and eight towns.

Pointing to the signboard of "Guangjitang", Zhou Minsheng said, "This is the name given by my grandfather, and by taking this name, he hopes to use medical skills to help others." At that time, he went to Xuchang Lujian Township to study medicine, studied for 12 years, and only then did he come back to open Guangjitang in Caizhuang. ”

Speaking of his grandfather Zhou Dacheng, Zhou Minsheng said with a smile that he has two unrelated-sounding nicknames, "Angry Donkey" and "Living Immortal", "Ten miles and eight towns call him that". In Zhou Minsheng's description, the past is concrete.

At that time, Zhou Dacheng's reputation gradually appeared, many people came to show respect, someone came to him with a donkey cart to ask him to see a doctor, but he insisted on running, he ran fast, came and went, and the nickname "angry donkey" was called.

"My grandfather has a straight temperament, he thinks that the donkey cart is too slow, delaying the disease, and the second is that the conditions were not good at that time, and he doesn't want to increase the burden on the patient." Zhou Minsheng said that no matter day or night, wind and rain, people came to look for him, and he ran away with the medicine box on his back. Later, he became more and more famous, and people who saw the doctor praised him, and gradually gained the nickname of "living immortal".

In a wooden box in the medical hall, there are more than ten yellowed medical books and diaries, all of which were left by Zhou Dacheng. Now the recipe has been inherited and innovated by the descendants of the Zhou family, and the old medical books are no longer used, but Zhou Minsheng regards it as a treasure, and his path to studying medicine began from these books, and now they also remind him of the teachings of his ancestors.

took over the mantle of the ancestors, and also inherited the original intention of "Guangji".

Zhou Dacheng has three sons, Zhou Minsheng's father Zhou Guoliang is the eldest, he studied medicine since he was a child, and he began to sit in the clinic at the age of 19. After the liberation, Guangjitang was incorporated into Caizhuang Commune Hospital, and Zhou Guoliang became the hospital's doctor. It wasn't until Zhou Guoliang retired that more and more people came to his home to see a doctor, and Guangjitang opened again in Lucun.

In Zhou Minsheng's memory, every night after his father got off work, he would follow him to learn to copy the recipe, copy and memorize, and his father would teach him on the side, and sometimes he would have a meal together, and his father would also let him memorize a recipe. As he grew older, his father began to teach him the art of cutting his pulse. "First I tried it on myself, my family tried it, and then I followed my father in the hospital, and I cut my pulse after he cut it, and when I talked about my diagnosis, he told me which was right and which was wrong."

Whether it is difficult to learn Chinese medicine or not, Zhou Minsheng's answer is "difficult". So why do you still insist? Zhou Minsheng said, "Watching the older generation treat diseases and save people, I feel that I have endless energy, and I will definitely be able to do it." ”

For most of his life, Zhou Minsheng finally became the appearance of his fathers. Not only did he receive the affirmation of patients, but in 2021, Zhou Minsheng was also named the representative inheritor of the fifth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage "Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Method (Guangjitang Traditional Chinese Medicine Gynecology)" in Henan Province.

It is not only the medical skills that are inherited, but also the spiritual core of the word "Guangji".

Zhou Minsheng remembered that when he was a child, patients often came to knock on the door in the middle of the night, and no matter how late it was, his father would follow him in a hurry. "At that time, everyone was poor, and it was not easy to see that the patient's life was not easy, so my grandfather and father often charged less or no consultation fees, so that everyone could afford to see the disease." In Zhou Minsheng's memory, people he didn't know often came to his house, gave some eggs or peanuts, and usually put them down and left.

Nowadays, when Zhou Minsheng encounters patients with poor conditions, he will secretly reduce the consultation fee. There are also many cured patients who come with red envelopes, but he refuses them all. "This is a family motto, and it must not be accepted."

The fourth generation took up the post of traditional Chinese medicine and chose to return to his hometown to continue to stick to it

Growing up in the fragrance of traditional Chinese medicine, Zhou Minsheng's son Zhou Shaohui's childhood "toys" were all kinds of Chinese medicinal materials, and villains marked with the meridian acupuncture points of the human body. For as long as he can remember, Zhou Shaohui has been in the Chinese medicine hall, helping adults prepare medicines, steaming what needs to be steamed, stir-frying what needs to be fried, and slicing what needs to be sliced. "At that time, when I was most impressed, I once cut medicine, and I almost cut off my fingers and stomachs without paying attention."

But in the college entrance examination, Zhou Shaohui still chose traditional Chinese medicine.

In 2010, Zhou Shaohui graduated from Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (now Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) and could have chosen to stay in Zhengzhou to work, but he remembered the family motto and stories left by his ancestors, and remembered that it was not easy for ordinary people in the county to see a doctor, so he returned to Nancao Health Center in Weishi County, which is also the post that his father Zhou Minsheng has been sticking to before retiring.

In his spare time, Zhou Shaohui was by his father's side to help while studying. "I still have a lot to learn about the medical skills left by the older generation."

Every weekend, Zhou Shaohui gives up his rest and rushes to the intangible cultural heritage market in Kaifeng to provide free medical services for the people. "Some are college students, some are busy with work, some are family difficulties, and they are afraid to go to a big hospital to see a doctor, so take advantage of the weekend market to see and give them free pulse cutting prescriptions, as long as it can help them, it is quite worthwhile."

Zhou Shaohui said, "My grandfather met Secretary Jiao to promote traditional Chinese medicine, and now I have caught up with a good time, the country attaches great importance to the development of traditional Chinese medicine, especially the intangible inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine, I hope that I can develop and innovate on the basis of my ancestors, and better carry forward the medical skills left by my ancestors and serve more patients." ”

At the end of the interview, there was a queue outside the door waiting to see a doctor. Outside the house, on a wooden plaque given to the ancestors by patients in the early years, although the "Qihuang Jingshu" has been mottled, the memories it carries have come through time, surrounded by the descendants of the Zhou family, and continue to move forward along the footsteps of the predecessors.
