On May 12, the 16th "5.12" National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day of Pu'er City was held in Simao District, and more than 50 member units of the Municipal Disaster Reduction Committee participated in the activity. The Pu'er Fire and Rescue Detachment actively participated in the fire protection theme publicity activities to popularize disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge and skills for the general public.
The theme of the event was "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Strive to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Risk Avoidance Capabilities". At the event site, the detachment popularized disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge such as fire prevention and extinguishing to the masses by setting up an emergency rescue equipment exhibition area, placing fire publicity display boards, and distributing fire protection publicity materials, explaining recent major typical fire accident cases, reminding the public to enhance fire safety awareness and prevent fire accidents. The propagandist gave detailed answers one by one. During the period, the fire propaganda staff also introduced the performance and use of various fire extinguishers to the public, and the citizens actively participated in the activities and achieved good results.
At the same time, the 10 county (district) brigades have also carried out various forms of disaster prevention and mitigation publicity activities. According to statistics, on the day of the event, more than 40,000 copies of publicity materials were distributed in various parts of the city, more than 100 fire propaganda knowledge display boards were displayed, and more than 300 public consultations were accepted. The detachment also simultaneously pushed the knowledge content of disaster prevention and mitigation on the official new media platform, further improving the publicity coverage and creating a strong atmosphere of disaster prevention and mitigation publicity.
