Covering 18 villages (communities) in the whole street, Dalong Street carried out mosquito vector density monitoring

With the gradual increase of temperature and the arrival of the rainy season, the breeding and reproduction rate of mosquitoes is accelerating, in order to effectively deal with the acute insect-borne infectious disease "dengue fever" transmitted by dengue virus through mosquito vectors, Aedes albopictus mosquito is the main vector of "dengue fever", and its density monitoring and prevention and control have become the focus of current work. In order to fully grasp the mosquito breeding situation in the area, Tai Lung Street carried out a four-day mosquito vector density monitoring activity from 7 to 10 May.

Investigators cleaned up the container of water on the spot

The monitoring work covered 18 villages (communities) in the whole street, and the Breto index survey method was used to ensure that each area was carefully investigated. In the course of the investigation, the staff randomly selected a number of monitoring points in each village according to the five directions of southeast, northwest, and central China, and focused on checking the breeding of mosquito larvae in aquatic plants, reservoirs, idle containers, waste tires and other waterlogged containers in front of and behind the building. They counted the number of containers and positives in detail, providing important data support for follow-up prevention and control work.

Investigators went to their homes to conduct on-site education

Investigators also actively carried out on-site propaganda work. They cleaned up the stagnant water containers on the spot and distributed pamphlets to residents to guide them on the key points of mosquito control techniques. The staff patiently explained the "three noes" principle to the residents (no stagnant water, no piles of debris, and no dead ends), and emphasized the importance of mosquito control measures such as regular cleaning of stagnant water and environmental management.

The person in charge of the office of the Da Lung Street Public Health Committee said that this round of operation counted the number of water containers and calculated the Breto index to timely grasp the mosquito vector density in the area under its jurisdiction, so as to provide a scientific basis for mosquito prevention and control. This will help to assess the risk of dengue, predict and warn and formulate corresponding prevention and control plans, so as to strengthen the line of defense against dengue infectious diseases.
