On May 3, 2024, during the May Day, under the guidance of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, the Shenzhen Tourism Association joined hands with the Shenzhen Tourism Volunteer Corps and Shenzhen's major scenic spots and transportation hubs to carry out May Day civilized tourism volunteer activities, with a total of more than 600 tourism volunteers in Splendid China, Happy Valley, Window of the World, Happy Harbor, Happy Coast, Shenzhen Wildlife Park, Sea Pastoral, Eastern Overseas Chinese Town, Rose Coast, Diwang Sightseeing, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Window, Tourist gathering places such as the cruise home port and Guangming Redwood Cultural Ancient Town participated in volunteer activities. Tourism volunteers actively guide citizens and tourists to abide by the concept of civilized tourism, public civilized order, care for public facilities, and protect the ecological environment at the activity sites of various scenic spots, so that public awareness, rule awareness, conservation awareness, and civilization awareness are deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
The Shenzhen Tourism Association and the Shenzhen Tourism Volunteer Corps also held the 2024 Shenzhen May Day Civilized Tourism Volunteer Activity in Happy Valley. The purpose of this activity is to convey the concept of civilized tourism to the society in the form of civilized tourism knowledge quiz combined with traditional etiquette pitching game, enhance the awareness of civilized tourism among citizens and tourists, create a civilized and orderly tourism environment, and promote the civilized development of urban tourism.
Derived from archery, pitching is considered an elegant activity that is closely linked to the life of the Confucian scholars. Secondly, the pot throwing game can cultivate the body and have a certain fitness effect. Although with the passage of time, the pitcher has evolved from the original etiquette to an entertainment game, but the pitcher has been passed down to this day is not only a form of entertainment, the game embodies the spirit of humility, respect, virtue, and self-reflection, which is a manifestation of the cultural characteristics of the mainland, and it also contains profound cultural significance, but also the inheritance of the cultural spirit.
In addition, the knowledge quiz questions of this event covered many civilized tourism advocacy concepts such as civilized tourism, green tourism, safe travel, rational consumption, cultural respect, etiquette norms, garbage classification and environmental protection.
The Shenzhen Tourism Volunteer Corps has long been committed to expanding the tourism volunteer team, gradually establishing a sound tourism volunteer organization structure, and creating a mechanism for promoting civilized tourism. Up to now, the number of volunteer detachments of the Shenzhen Tourism Volunteer Corps has reached 57, with more than 16,500 tourism volunteers. Volunteers include tour guides, travel agency staff, scenic spot staff, hotel staff, enthusiastic citizens, etc.
The successful holding of the May Day Volunteer Civilized Tourism Volunteer Activity is inseparable from the joint efforts of every participant. In the future, Shenzhen Tourism Association will continue to hold more down-to-earth and popular civilized tourism promotion activities, so that more people can join the ranks of civilized tourism and jointly add glory to the beautiful city of Shenzhen.
