On April 28, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the founding of Zhejiang University Press, the "Seminar on the High-quality Development of Academic Publishing under Media Integration" was held in Hangzhou, sponsored by Zhejiang University and the Academic Publishing Committee of the Publishers Association of China, and undertaken by Zhejiang University Press and the Digital Publishing Research Center of Zhejiang University.

At the meeting, experts from the publishing academic community not only discussed the high-quality development of academic publishing in the context of the new era, but also presented the fruitful results of the 40 years of development of Zhejiang University Press, and witnessed the launch of the publication project of "China Silk Art Series" and the release of the "Digital Social Sciences" series (Volume I), as well as the donation ceremony of the Publishing Education Fund of Zhejiang University Education Foundation.

Chu Chaofu, chairman of Zhejiang University Press, said that over the past 40 years, generations of Zhejiang University publishers have passed on the torch and worked hard, driven by reform and innovation, striding forward towards the goal of making good books, producing high-quality products, and creating first-class products, and embarked on a road of high-quality development. At present, the publishing house has formed a publishing development pattern of one body and two wings. At the new starting point, the publishing house will deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and under the guidance of the strategic guidance of "higher quality, more excellence, more respect, and more dreams", the publishing house will deeply implement the "123" development strategy, bravely undertake new missions, show new achievements, forge ahead on a new journey, and continue to strive to build a world-class university press with Chinese characteristics.

Subsequently, Zhejiang University Press released 40 years of key books. The 40 kinds of good books released this time are the most representative books selected from the more than 20,000 kinds of books published by the publishing house according to the dimensions of cultural value, social influence, market repercussions, etc., after multiple rounds of selection.

At the meeting, the launching ceremony of the publication project of "China Silk Art Series" and the release ceremony of the "Digital Social Science" series (first series) were held.

As an important publishing project of Zhejiang University Press, "The Great Collection of Chinese Silk Art" aims to comprehensively, systematically and deeply excavate and display the profound heritage and unique charm of Chinese silk art. The launch of this project is not only the inheritance and development of the silk cultural tradition of the mainland, but also a strong impetus for the innovation and development of contemporary silk art.

Professor Huang Xianhai, editor-in-chief of the "Digital Social Sciences" series, Professor Wei Lu, author of "Digital Divide", Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean (in charge of administrative work) of Zhejiang University of Media and Communication, Professor Hu Ming, author of "Digital Rule of Law", Dean of Guanghua Law School and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, Professor Wang Yizhong, author of "Digital Finance" and Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics of Zhejiang University, and Chu Chaofu, producer of the "Digital Social Sciences" series and chairman of Zhejiang University Press, jointly unveiled the "Digital Social Sciences" series (Volume I).

The "Digital Social Sciences" series is a pioneering and useful attempt to systematically construct a research paradigm of digital social sciences in China. Through the publication of this series of books, we hope to better build a bridge between digital technology and social science, and explore and understand the development trend of social science in the era of digital economy in a more cutting-edge and complete vision. In the future, the second and third series of books will continue to be developed to further expand and include topics such as digital + education and digital + society.
