On the evening of May 20, under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Maoming Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Maoming Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, sponsored by the Maoming Agricultural Cultural Tourism Group, co-organized by the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe, and produced by the Maoming Cantonese Opera Troupe, the Cantonese opera musical "See Lychee Red Again" premiered at the Maoming Theater, Zhang Huiling, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, Yang Xiong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, and Lai Qiang, vice chairman of the CPPCC, watched the premiere with the public audience. It is reported that the play will continue to be performed in Maoming Theater for four consecutive performances from May 21 to 22.
According to reports, the play lasted more than a year from conception, creation to premiere, with Maoming's characteristic fruit lychee throughout the play, using the time and space line spanning thousands of years from ancient times to the present, telling the story of Emperor Tang Ming to congratulate Yang Guifei on her birthday, asking the Gaozhou Lychee Garden in Lingnan to pay tribute to fresh lychees, the protagonist Mao Yong with the help of his lover Red Girl's "bamboo tube preservation method" Flying thousands of miles to send lychees The story of sending lychees, and showing the love between Mao Yong and the Red Girl.
It is worth mentioning that the play uses the novel form of expression of "Cantonese opera + musical" to maximize the program and techniques of Cantonese opera, while boldly innovating in modeling, music, stage art, etc., and integrating multimedia elements, fully demonstrating the people's ambition, creative power and development fruits to vigorously expand the lychee industry, bringing a refreshing audio-visual experience to the audience.
The play has a strong main creative and starring lineup, and Wang Wei, director of the Guangdong Provincial Art Research Institute, is specially invited to serve as the drama composer, which is composed of national first-class playwright Liang Yunan, director Sun Xiaoming of the National Theatre of China, Huang Jian, a national first-class performer, Li Jingjian, a young composer from the Conservatory of Music of Shanghai University, Jin Jifeng, a stage designer, and Hu Tianji, a multimedia designer of the National Theatre. Li Jiayi, a national first-class actor and winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Theatre, and Chen Zhenjiang, a national second-class actor, starred in the performance, and the Maoming Cantonese Opera Troupe performed to ensure the quality and artistic standards of the repertoire. During the performance, the actors performed affectionately, the plot was ups and downs, and the audience applauded again and again, and the applause continued.
The organizer said that the purpose of creating "See Lychee Red Again" is to tell the characteristic story of Maoming lychee and vigorously promote the Maoming lychee brand.
