IT Home reported on April 30 that in order to enhance interaction with users in the past few years, Google has built a large number of 3D models of animals and other objects in search results, allowing users to view these models in augmented reality. However, according to 9to5Google, Google has removed most of the models for now.
Note: Google started rolling out AR-rendered animals in search results in 2019, and in addition to dinosaurs, there are educational models of planets, locations, human anatomy, cellular parts, and more, with more than 100 different animals available at its peak.
However, the media recently searched for related content, and many 3D animals have been canceled, and the number of animals that provide AR rendering has been reduced to just a few animals, including Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, rhinoceros beetle, Gidding beetle, and giant panda.
This has led to speculation that Google is abandoning the service. Google laid off hundreds of AR hardware employees earlier this year. The company also lost the main leader of the AR team last year.
