The State Grid is obviously also the pillar of state-owned enterprises in China, so why should the name be different from other state-owned enterprises?

In the early days of the mainland's reform and opening up, the mainland's power industry can be regarded as the lowest level among the world's major countries, and related technologies, equipment products, and operation concepts can be said to be blank.
But the country needs to develop, the people's livelihood needs to be guaranteed, and it is urgent to solve the power problem.
However, Western countries will not sell you their technology and equipment so easily, although Western countries had a honeymoon period of establishing diplomatic relations with the mainland at that time, their technological blockade of China has never stopped.
Originally, we thought, buy something, as long as the price is right, but people don't think so, they can buy our things, and then look at other things.
This look at the rest is not other useful things, but some second-hand daily garbage.
For example, the Nanqiao converter station on the mainland, where there is a completely imported turf, not that there is money and stinks, but if you don't buy these things, people won't sell you the equipment at all.
Moreover, the Nanqiao converter station can be said to be a proper "eight-nation alliance" at the beginning, except for a small number of 35,000-volt circuit breakers in the station, all other equipment is bought back from fifteen companies in seven countries.
I bought equipment from Japan, begged my grandfather to tell my grandmother for dozens of trips, and finally agreed to sell us the equipment, but when we finally signed the contract, the Japanese took out a batch of old faucets, praised this thing to the sky, and then sold it to us at a high price.
If you don't buy it, you can't do it, there is no way, in order to be able to cross the river by touching the "stones", this humiliation makes the power grid people endure it silently.
Many families with three generations engaged in the power grid industry are estimated to have similar experiences, that is, a bunch of faucets at home, and the faucet who is working on the power grid at home is a good hand.
Although it is a kind of ridicule to say it now, at the time it was really a knife to the hearts of the power grid people.
In the early days of the establishment of the mainland, the country's installed power capacity was only 1.85 million kilowatts, and the total power generation in a year was only 4.3 billion kilowatt hours, while the United States in the same period, the total annual power generation was as high as 296.1 billion kilowatt hours.
Such a gap makes us have to bow our heads and learn from others, and the West has also taken this opportunity to peel the skin and flesh on us.
Even so, the West still has a lot of moths, imported back from the sky-high equipment design drawings are incomplete, quality problems, when we find the manufacturer, people still say that it is a normal phenomenon.
Just kidding, we are just backward in technology, it doesn't mean that we don't understand it at all, and after our repeated negotiations, the other party sent someone to repair it.
In order to keep China behind, the West has begun to isolate itself in the relevant technology industry, refusing to carry out technological exchanges with China, and strictly guarding against patented technology.
China Electric Power people have always held their breath.
If there is any sentence that is more in line with the psychological state of the electric power people at that time, then "30 years in Hedong, 30 years in Hexi, don't bully the poor youth" can be said to be completely in line with it.
From being controlled by others, to being unprecedented
After the mainland entered the rapid development, the original circulation mode could not keep up with the needs and scale of the mainland's development, so in 2002, the ultra-high voltage transmission technology was proposed.
UHV transmission refers to the engineering and technology of 1000 kV AC voltage and ±800 kV DC voltage, which has the advantages of long distance, large capacity, low loss and saving land resources.
Before the mainland, other countries in the world did not raise it, but in the end they all ended in abrupt death.
Other countries scoff at China's UHV transmission technology, after all, we started late, and in their opinion, our proposal of UHV transmission technology is equivalent to primary school students doing function problems.
No country is optimistic about us, they don't think that China can go ahead of them with the technology they can't develop.
But as a result, we can not only walk a wide avenue on the road they can't get out, but we can also go further on the way they get out.
Before 2010, flexible DC transmission technology was the "secret book" of international power giants, and they could communicate with each other, but they were not allowed to communicate with each other.
We do not participate in the engineering of our flexible DC transmission technology, nor do we share, nor do we have technical exchanges, we all rely on our own exploration.
Now, we have opened up the track of flexible DC transmission technology, from the upstream to the downstream of this industrial chain, we are all dead.
When the international giants reacted and started to fight a price war with us, they found that they could not beat us in terms of price and technology.
The same is true for ultra-high voltage transmission technology.
In August 2006, the National Development and Reform Commission officially approved the construction of a 1000 kV UHV AC test demonstration project in the southeast of Shanxi Province-Nanyang-Jingmen.
Three years later, it was officially put into commercial use, and the mainland became the first country in the world to enter the UHV era.
In June 2010, the ± 800 kV Yunnan-Guangdong UHVDC transmission demonstration project was put into operation, which is the world's first UHVDC project, promoting China to enter the era of AC/DC UHVDC hybrid power grid.
This is something that Western countries did not expect, but China will not stop and wait for them.
At present, State Grid has successfully invested in the operation of backbone energy grids in nine countries and regions, including Brazil, the Philippines, Portugal, Australia, Italy, Greece, Oman, Chile and Hong Kong, China.
Countries such as Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Mongolia even need the national grid to send them electricity.
Since 2011, State Grid has taken the lead in formulating 84 international standards and holding 110,000 patented technologies, and other countries must start by learning Chinese if they want to learn power technology.
Steven Chu, then the U.S. Secretary of Energy, was envious of the mainland's UHVDC transmission technology, and offered to share it with them more than once.
It's a pity that pie won't fall from the sky, you ignore the former State Grid, and you can't afford the current State Grid.
Huawei's 5G standard may look a bit empty, after all, it still needs the support of Western technology in many hardware, but in the area of power transportation, the national grid can beat the world.
