New design, new power!Infiniti flagship SUV facelifted QX80 debuts

Infiniti (Infiniti) has launched a new facelift QX80, not only with a new exterior design, but also with a powertrain that abandons the V8 and uses a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine for the first time, giving the brand flagship, which has not been facelifted for 14 years, a full-size luxury SUV from head to toe. At the 2024 New York International Auto Show, which runs from March 29 to April 7, the actual car will also make its public debut.

The all-new QX80 adopts the "Artistry in Motion" design language, which is reflected in the QX Monograph concept released last year, which is more stylish and modern than the previous design.

This time, Infiniti also created a gorgeous welcome carpet for the QX80, with the Infiniti wordmark and wing-like geometric shapes, which are not only very technological, but also create the lighting texture that a luxury car should have. In addition, the all-new QX80 is available in seven eye-catching body paint colours, with a new shade called "Dynamic Metal" being the main one. After more than six years of development, it was designed to provide the feel of liquid metal.

The interior of the QX80 is heavily inspired by Japanese culture and the principle of "elegance". Originating from Kyoto's artisan culture, it references layering, blending soft materials with high-quality materials, layered over everything within reach. Elements such as leather, wood, suede and metal are designed to be combined with high-tech products such as touch screens without being obtrusive.

The center console uses two 14.3-inch screens, and the LCD instrument cluster is available in three styles: Classic, Elegant and Enhanced, which can be operated via the wheel on the right side of the steering wheel. The wheel also allows you to operate the central INFINITI InTouch ® display. For the first time, the QX80 also offers an available color HUD.

In addition, there is a 9-inch direct screen on the ramp-type center console, which is mainly used for front seat functions such as air conditioning system control, ventilated/heated seats, and driving mode adjustment.

In the luxury segment, the QX80 features a luxurious combination of leather, wood and metal. Other highlights include a shift button instead of a gear lever, 64-colour ambient lighting, and an available centre console cooler. The first and second row seats are heated and ventilated as standard, while the third row seats are only heated. In addition, for the first time, massage seats are available in the first and second rows.

The QX80 features the latest camera and image processing technologies, including Front Wide View, which uses the camera to provide a 170-degree wide view of the side of the vehicle on a 14.3-inch screen, allowing you to see corners that were previously unseeable. The Invisible Hood View, on the other hand, shows a shot of the vehicle directly in front of it, and is equipped with an improved RoundView monitor and upgraded digital mirrors.

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 will be available this summer and will cost $82,450 to $110,595, which is actually quite more expensive than the previous model. Competitors are full-size SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
