As the team leader and obstetrician, Li Jie actively strengthened communication and consultation with the hospital, formulated a scientific and standardized work system, and improved the work efficiency of local medical staff; On the one hand, she took the initiative to undertake surgery and overtime tasks, running between outpatient clinics, delivery rooms, and wards every day, and co-ordinating the handling of various critical and serious diseases.
Combined with the actual situation of insufficient drugs and equipment in the resident hospital, Li Jie won a Chinese donation of 1 million dinars (local currency) for the recipient hospital after only three months of arriving in Mascora. On the basis of limited medical resources, Li Jie and her team members actively carried out various new technologies for hemostasis and suturing in obstetrics. She also regularly organizes team members to exchange and summarize experience, and trains local medical personnel through the method of "passing on help and mentoring", leaving a "medical team that cannot be taken away" for the recipient country.
