You don't need to buy a Porsche! Volkswagen Magotan is equipped with a passenger entertainment screen
Under the fierce competition in the market, the new generation of cars is equipped with rapid technological equipment. Now, even the co-pilot entertainment screen, which was only available in luxury cars and even supercars in the past, can be equipped on affordable cars. The sedan that will be equipped with a three-screen interior setup is the Volkswagen Magotan that will be unveiled in the Chinese market.
Volkswagen Magotan, which shares the chassis and many parts with the European-spec Volkswagen Passat and Skoda Supai, will have a more anticipated interior setup. Judging from a set of interior photos exposed on the Internet, in addition to the LCD instrument display and the large touch screen in the center, the cockpit of Volkswagen Magotan also has a rectangular screen in front of the co-pilot (which seems to have a touch function). The co-pilot display is currently only available on premium brands such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz or Ferrari supercars.
Since domestic consumers are particularly interested in high-tech equipment and functions, and Volkswagen is also trying to recover its share in the domestic market, the function of Volkswagen Magotan's co-pilot display screen is very reasonable. The Magotan will be the first MQB Evo chassis model to be equipped with a three-screen interior setup, and it's uncertain when the new interior setup will be available on other market models.
There are also media released a series of exterior pictures of Volkswagen Magotan to preemptively expose this four-door sedan. It is reported that while the body size of the Magotan is roughly the same as that of the latest Passat, it has its own unique styling details. At the front, the Magotan is equipped with a continuous light bar and illuminated coloured logos, while at the rear there are continuous taillights that span the entire width of the car and illuminated red badges.
According to information released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new Volkswagen Magotan will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 217 horsepower. It has also been suggested that the model may also be offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 158 horsepower.
