To copy the scriptures, we must first concentrate on it, focus on not scattering, suppress all kinds of delusions in our hearts, write it stroke by stroke, and follow the text into the view, so that the Dharma can be written in the hand, read in the mouth, and remember in the heart.

Zen Master Song Dajue in the "Buddha Says Forty-two Chapters of the Sutra" in the article on Huaisu cursive has the following comments: "The teacher's book is wonderful, the pen is vertical and horizontal, the slightest electric switch, the strange rain and wind, the change of the hand, looming and unpredictable, compared with the books of "Qianwen", "Self-description" and "Our Lady", there is more clear and thin energy, such as the blue lotus flower opening to the end of the pen, this is also the first meaning in the book, the outline of the non-teacher is not holy, how can it be so far?"
It can be seen that Huaisu's meditation work is fully displayed in the writing of scriptures, which is the embodiment of the unity of Zen, people and characters. The Zen mind and art are integrated, and the body is the same, which is also the highest interpretation of calligraphy Zen.
Copying scriptures, one is to hear the law and be happy, the second is to be familiar with memorization, and the third can often think, which can be summed up as "faith, wish, and action".
Copying sutras is a process of writing scriptures by hand to generate joy in our hearts, and it is also a way to strengthen our memory and familiarize ourselves with the scriptures, and at the same time, by constantly thinking about the profound truths contained in the copied scriptures, we can develop firm confidence in the Dharma.
