In order to provide a full range of touch reading and listening services for visually impaired readers, Guangzhou Library recruited 20 companion reading volunteers from the School of Foreign Chinese of South China Agricultural University, and trained them before the event to provide professional oral interpretation services for visually impaired readers. On the day of the event, volunteers gathered at Tancun Station of Metro Line 5 to guide visually impaired readers one-on-one and escort them all the way to the destination to participate in the event. The event aims to provide a better reading experience for visually impaired readers.

In the interactive session of Cantonese opera knowledge sharing, the staff of the Red Line Girl Arts Center specially prepared the "helmet" (Liyuan jargon, which is the general name for various crowns and hats worn by actors in traditional Chinese opera) in Cantonese opera costumes for readers to wear and experience. Ge Ruijuan, a national second-class actor of the Red Line Girl Art Center, taught the "helmet" on the spot and explained its types and symbolic meanings, as well as related Cantonese opera expertise. The atmosphere of the event was lively, and readers participated in the wearing experience and experienced the charm of Cantonese opera culture.

According to reports, the oral documentary is a public welfare project carried out by Guangzhou Library and Xingchen Club for special groups such as the visually impaired. Since 2021, the two sides have successively jointly carried out oral narration activities for documentaries such as "Rebirth", "Fragrance of Cantonese Rhyme" and "Forbidden City 100", which have been highly praised by visually impaired readers and have great social influence. The special activity of "Promoting Lingnan Culture and Inheriting the Essence of Cantonese Opera" is the first time that an oral documentary has gone out of Guangtu and served the community, and is a cultural and tourism activity specially carried out for the visually impaired. A total of 27 visually impaired people signed up to participate in this event, including 5 visually impaired readers from Shunde, Foshan, which played a positive role in promoting national reading, promoting local traditional culture, and sharing excellent cultural achievements.
