The opera inherits the great virtues of China, and the characteristics are diverse. In order to vigorously promote and inherit traditional Chinese culture, Xinjiang Middle School has been taking action to bring high-quality art resources into the school, creating a strong campus cultural atmosphere and establishing cultural self-confidence.
On May 13, 2024, teachers and students from Shanxi Pu Opera Theater walked into the campus, allowing teachers and students of our school to appreciate the charm of opera art, understand the essence of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, and cultivate students' healthy aesthetic taste and good artistic literacy through dialogue with opera.
Before the start of the performance, Zhu Tianxiang, member of the Party Committee and Director of the Party Committee Office of our school, delivered a speech, introducing the importance of "opera into the campus" to the students, and hoped that the students would love the traditional culture, love their hometown, love the motherland, and strive to be a new person of the era with all-round development, and expressed their heartfelt thanks to the members of the art troupe!

Classic programs such as "Table Flower", "Green Silk Hate", "Xu Ce Running to the City", "Double Gun Lu Wenlong", "I Am a Little Bird", "Brother Red Army is Back" and other classic programs were launched in front of the screen. The students at the scene paid attention to the actors' every move, smiling and frowning; Listening attentively to every singing voice and every word of the actors, the atmosphere of the whole venue was warm, and the applause was endless, showing the most sincere admiration for the actors!
In order to let the students have a deeper understanding of the art of opera and feel the charm of Pu Opera, an interactive teaching session was carried out on the spot. At the end of the performance, our school sent a pennant to Shanxi Puqu Art Institute to express our gratitude.
"Bringing opera to campus" is an initiative proposed by the Ministry of Education to "vigorously promote elegant art and traditional opera into campus". The inheritance of traditional art and culture lies in the words and deeds of one generation and another, and in the edification of the overall cultural environment.
This activity integrates traditional Chinese culture into the educational practice of our school, and this unique "Chinese-style" aesthetic education allows students to get close to the traditional Chinese opera culture, feel the charm of traditional opera art, educate students to carry forward the core values of socialism, and hope that the new middle school teenagers can become the backbone of promoting traditional Chinese culture in the future!
