Guardian at low temperature|Use "foot measurement + drone technology equipment" to protect the world's UHV lines

author:Dawan News

With the arrival of the first large-scale rain and snow in Hefei this winter, the cold wind is cold on Henglong Mountain, Ba Town, Chaohu City, and the 1100 thousand volt Jiquan line in the ±, one of the main energy arteries in East China, power workers braved the biting cold wind to "measure" the high-voltage line with their footsteps to complete the special inspection and maintenance.

It is reported that the Jiquan line is an important part of the mainland's "west-to-east power transmission", starting from the Changji converter station in Xinjiang in the west to the Guquan converter station in Xuancheng, Anhui Province in the east. In order to cope with this cold wave, power workers further increased the frequency of special line inspections, and used drones and other equipment to find and deal with hidden dangers in a timely manner.

Electrical workers "measure" high-voltage lines with their footsteps

On December 15, on Henglong Mountain, Ba Town, Chaohu City, Hefei, Li Shengyan, an employee of the Transmission and Inspection Center of Hefei Power Supply Company, braved the biting cold wind to carry out a special inspection of the ± 1100 thousand volt Jiquan line, one of the main energy arteries in East China.

It was almost noon, and the wind was cold on Henglong Mountain. Along the direction of the Jiquan Line, Li Shengyan and his colleagues held high-definition telescopes and continuously observed the operation of the Jiquan Line in the high altitude. Every time they arrive at an observation point, the two of them will take out the rangefinder and other equipment in turn, repeatedly confirm the distance of the line to the ground, etc., and upload the data to the background through the APP simultaneously.

It is understood that the Jiquan line is an important part of the mainland's "west-to-east power transmission", starting from Xinjiang Zhundong Changji converter station in the west to Anhui Xuancheng Guquan converter station in the east, with a total length of 3,293 kilometers, it is currently the world's highest voltage level, the largest transmission capacity, the farthest transmission distance, and the most advanced DC transmission project with the most advanced technical level. Since it was put into operation in 2019, the Jiquan Line has delivered more than 200 million kWh of electricity per day, which is greater than the largest daily electricity consumption in Hefei's history, and strongly supports the high-quality energy demand for economic and social development in East China.

"The fingers are a little disobedient, and they can't bend anymore!" "The long-term outdoor patrol in the low temperature has made everyone's limbs numb. Every few minutes, Li Shengyan and his colleagues would warm their frozen hands with the hot air exhaled from their mouths.

It is reported that during the low temperature and cold wave, 120 operation and maintenance personnel of the transmission and inspection center of Hefei Power Supply Company drove hundreds of kilometers to shuttle through the city every day, braved the biting cold wind and "measured" the high-voltage line with their footsteps, and completed the special inspection and maintenance work in a timely manner. The average outdoor working time per person is more than 8 hours per day, and the "WeChat operation" exceeds 30,000 steps.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and remote monitoring devices capture abnormalities in a timely manner

On the same day, after regaining the consciousness of his hands and feet a little, Li Shengyan arranged the drone, skillfully operated it to fly into the air, and shuttled steadily between the lines of the Jiquan Line. At the same moment, the screen clearly presents an image in the air at an altitude of more than 50 meters. "The positioning accuracy of professional drones is centimeter-level, and through the high-resolution image sensor it is equipped with, it can accurately find whether there is ice on the line during low temperatures and whether there are any equipment abnormalities. Li Shengyan said.

It is reported that at present, the transmission and inspection center of Hefei Power Supply Company has jurisdiction over more than 5,000 kilometers of transmission lines of 110 thousand volts and above voltage levels in the city, of which the "top priority" is to guarantee four cross-regional power supply ultra-high voltage lines, including Jiquan line. In order to cope with this cold wave, the center implemented rain, snow and freezing measures in advance, eliminated foreign objects in the transmission channel, further increased the frequency of special inspections of the line, and used drones and other equipment to find and deal with hidden dangers in a timely manner.

Nearly 100 kilometers away from Henglong Mountain, in the centralized monitoring center of Hechao Road, Baohe District, Hefei City, five staff members are concentrating on observing the operation of high-voltage transmission lines in Hefei through the "Transmission Panorama Intelligent Control Platform". Tens of kilometers or even hundreds of kilometers away, and even hundreds of meters above the altitude, the route is clearly presented on the big screen, as if you are in the scene.

"With more than 8,000 remote video image monitoring devices installed on the city's transmission lines, we were able to understand the situation on site 'without leaving home'. In case of foreign objects hanging on the line, the nearest operation and maintenance personnel will be immediately notified to rush to the scene for disposal. Xu Yi, director of the transmission and inspection center of Hefei Power Supply Company, said.

According to reports, mountain fires are prone to occur in autumn and winter, and this year's "transmission panoramic intelligent management and control platform" has been upgraded to add the "satellite remote sensing module" function, which captures the special thermal radiation changes emitted by the flames on the ground through satellite sensors, and uses artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze and judge, and timely send out alarm information. "At present, the satellite remote sensing function covers 10 important lines near mountainous areas in the city, further improving the reliability of power supply. Xu Yi said.

At the end of November this year, through the transmission panoramic intelligent management and control platform, the transmission and operation inspection center of Hefei Power Supply Company found that there were fire hazards in the 500 kV Menxing line channel located in Zhongxing Township, Feidong County, and they dealt with it on the spot within two hours to ensure the smooth operation of the line. Since the beginning of winter, the center has eliminated more than 260 hidden dangers of various types and cleared 70 hidden dangers of tree barriers.
