On September 24, 1930, the Third Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Shanghai to end Li Lisan's adventurous route

Qu Qiubai presided over the meeting, Zhou Enlai conveyed the resolution of the Communist International, Qu Qiubai made a conclusion on political discussion, and Li Lisan made a review speech. The main theme of the meeting was to criticize Li Lisan's "Left" adventurism, correct the erroneous assessment of the revolutionary situation, stop organizing a general national uprising and concentrating the Red Army on the adventurous actions of attacking the central cities, and restore the independent organization and regular work of the Party, the League, and the trade unions.

The meeting adopted the "Resolution of the Third Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee on the Political Situation and the Party's General Tasks" and issued the "Letter to Comrades of the Third Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee." At the same time, the central leading organs were reorganized. The re-elected Politburo consisted of 14 members. Xiang Zhongfa, Xiang Ying, Zhou Enlai, Qu Qiubai and 7 others were members of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, and Luo Yi, Li Weihan, and Mao Zedong were alternate members of the Politburo. Wen Yucheng, Li Weihan, and 7 others were elected as members of the Central Committee, and 8 people, including Yuan Binghui and Zhu De, were elected as alternate members of the Central Committee.
