The story structure of One Second is not complicated. "Gintama" once had an episode about Termon's father escaping from prison in order to watch his daughter's concert, and told a story in 20 minutes, although there were tears, but the overall tone was relaxed.
And "One Second" tells about a father who breaks out of prison to watch his daughter go to the news briefing, and it takes 104 minutes, so it is conceivable that it is not just about father-daughter love.
< h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" > three characters

The film has three main characters, namely Zhang Jiusheng, the escaped father played by Zhang Yi, liu Haocun played by the tomboy Liu Girl, and Fan Wei played by the film projectionist Fan Film, the whole story uses film film as McGovern, connecting the action lines of the three characters.
As far as the release version is concerned, Zhang Jiusheng's character background is seriously missing, and can only be roughly speculated from the clues in the film.
He claimed that he went to the labor camp because of a fight, and Fan Said said that he was groomed, and it is conceivable that he was framed in an era when the success rate of reporting was extremely high.
When Fan Film organized everyone to rescue the film, Zhang Jiusheng claimed to have washed the photos, and at that time, the camera was not a popular device in every household, and he may have engaged in camera-related work, even as a photographer or reporter.
Regarding the fate of his daughter, it is said that the original story directly explains that she is dead. Only some hints were retained in the release version.
First, after Zhang Jiusheng read the news briefing, her daughter carried grain, and she bitterly scolded her why she grabbed work with adults; second, Liu Jiusheng cursed Zhang Jiusheng's daughter when she was emotionally excited, and Zhang Jiusheng immediately lost her mind and kicked over the stool where Liu Jiusheng was standing.
Putting together this missing piece of the puzzle, Zhang Jiusheng's motives are complete, so that he can explain why his behavior is so hysterical.
Liu's daughter only has her and her brother left in the family, stealing film in order to make a lampshade, so she intersects with Zhang Jiusheng, and the matter about her parents is also explained through her dialogue with Zhang Jiusheng.
This role is similar in age to Zhang Jiusheng's daughter, and she has no father at the moment, forming a complementary relationship with Zhang Jiusheng, and both can project the missing part of their emotions on each other. At the beginning of the story, Zhang Jiusheng lied to the truck driver that Liu's daughter was his daughter, and he had already begun to lay a relationship between the two projecting each other.
By the way, Liu Haocun's interpretation of Liu Haocun's girlfriend still has room for improvement, and with the contrast of other actors, Liu Haocun's slightly staged paradigm performance, especially when speaking lines, seems to be somewhat contrary to the realistic tone of the film.
The role of Fan Film is quite interesting. He holds the spiritual lifeblood of a small crowd, and his status as a film projectionist gives him the illusion of controlling the fate of others, and he enjoys it. But he only used this superior complacency to strengthen his courage, and when Zhang Jiusheng threatened him, he immediately gave in.
Although Fan Film has many black spots, the film still shows another side of him, in the scene where Fan Film leads the masses to rescue the film, although he is still full of officialdom, it can be seen that he still has a certain professionalism as a projectionist, and he also has a sincere love for the film.
After reporting Zhang Jiusheng, he left his daughter's film as a souvenir and gave the lampshade made of color film to Liu's daughter, which made him have a flashing moment. At this point, I personally feel that the character of Fan Film is slightly better than Zhang Jiusheng.
Although the latter is a labor prisoner, he appears as a victim in the film, and he immediately shows mercy to Liu's girlfriend's subordinates after several hysterical situations, especially kicking down Liu's girlfriend and instantly retracting the scene, which actually adds a layer of moral insurance to this role, and is slightly suspected of trying to create a perfect victim.

write about the environment on a case-by-case basis
One thing all three characters have in common is that their families are mutilated. This mutilation is not a special case, but a microcosm of the general environment.
The publicity of "One Second" focuses on "movie love letters", portraying the film as a nostalgic complex, which is not excluded as a security strategy. Because after 104 minutes, you will know that this is not just a tribute to the movie.
At the beginning of the film, it is a set of big visions, and Zhang Jiusheng is walking alone in the desert. Switching to medium and close-ups shows the character's hunger and thirst multiple times. This is both a depiction of the physical environment and a portrayal of a mental state.
Not only do people live in barren deserts, but their spirits are also hungry and thirsty because of the restrictions, so they regard watching movies as a top priority.
After the opening tone is set, there are many details in the film that show people's living conditions on the side.
For example, after Fan Zhen was threatened by Zhang Jiusheng, he gave up the stool to Zhang Jiusheng to sit, and then Zhang Jiusheng shouted angrily, and Fan Film immediately changed from one knee to two knees. It is inevitable to speculate that in the environment at that time, he could be a projectionist for such a long time, and it was probably difficult to achieve without this low-knee skill.
When Zhang Jiusheng received his daughter's film, his first reaction was to thank Fan Film, but he had just been reported by Fan Film. It shows that in his heart, the former is crucial compared to the report, and the environment in which the report is prevalent has raised the threshold of tolerance for evil to a very high level, as if it is a perfectly normal thing.
The lampshade made of film is also a metaphor, and Liu's daughter let her want her brother to use it when he studied, hoping that he would be able to get rid of this state of spiritual poverty. In the end, she received a color film lampshade given by Fan Film, which added color to the original black and white, indicating that her brother would usher in a color era when he grew up.
But Zhang Jiusheng's ending is tragic, his only remaining film to remember, submerged by the sea of sand, this is indeed a clever stroke, but the way to lead out this plot, just the people of the security section suddenly remembered that Fan Film had stuffed a note to Zhang Jiusheng, it was slightly casual, if they already knew about this, then they could also search for film before leaving.
Zhang Jiusheng's story, if the motive is complete, is indeed lamentable.
But the most important place for me in the whole movie is that the people who swept the camera during the screening of "Heroes and Children" really had a sense of realism in the absence of the protagonist. And because I was also in the theater at that time, it was as if I had traveled through time and space in an instant, entering that era of collectivism.
As they sang together, I had a vague sense that what they needed might not be a movie, but a prophet and leader who could lead them out of the desert.
"One Second" has been called by some fans as director Zhang Yimou's best work since 2000, and I dare not draw this conclusion. On the Internet, he enjoys the title of "National Master", some people think that he is a well-deserved master, and some people think that he has a false name.
We do not know whether Zhang Yimou himself was bound by this title. But I personally don't want to be disturbed by these names, and before watching his film every time, it is only regarded as a new work of an old craftsman in the industry, regardless of the national system.
