Minsit Group became the first Asian company to receive Volkswagen TL116 C28 certification

Recently, according to Gaz Auto, Minshi Group's independently developed Minal-S628 high-strength collision alloy aluminum has passed the Volkswagen TL116 C28 technology approval, making Minshi the first enterprise in Asia to break through C28 material technology.

High-strength collision alloy aluminum has a high technical threshold

Under the pressure of energy and environmental protection, new energy vehicles will undoubtedly become the main development direction of future automobiles. Compared with fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles are heavier, have less impact collapse space, and have higher battery safety protection requirements, which requires the vehicle to have higher crash protection performance, as shown in Figure 2. Therefore, high-strength collision alloy aluminum has become a core material technology that needs to be overcome urgently. It is understood that before the breakthrough in the research and development of Minal-S628 collision alloy aluminum, the collision alloy aluminum with a yield strength of more than 280MPa has been mastered by a few aluminum giants in Europe, and the layout of patent protection.

Minshi has the world's leading aluminum technology in the battery box industry

On March 23, 2022, minshi mentioned in the briefing of the performance conference that minshi made a perfect layout for the required collision aluminum based on the development needs of new energy vehicles. Minal-S series collision alloy aluminum can meet the aluminum requirements of different protective positions of passenger cars, as detailed in Figure 3. Among them, Minsit Minal-S625 collided with alloy aluminum, making the Group the first company in Asia to break through BMW's WS 02003B material technology. It is expected that Minshi will continue to work hard and continue to make breakthroughs in materials such as C32 and C36.

Actively layout low-carbon aluminum technology and recycled aluminum industry

In the briefing of the Minshi performance conference, it was also highlighted that in order to support the national dual-carbon strategy, Minshi Group is also constantly developing low-carbon, zero-carbon and even negative carbonization technologies to promote the application of green aluminum raw materials and recycled aluminum as much as possible. To this end, Minshi has formulated the same green aluminum carbon emission plan as the European aluminum giant, as shown in Figure 4, in 2030 will achieve the green aluminum carbon emission ≤ 2.5 kg CO2/kg Al target.

At present, Minshi has completed the research and development of ECO-ALUMIN S series green aluminum, 100% using hydroelectric aluminum ingots and recycled scrap aluminum, carbon emissions ≤ 3.0kg CO2/kg Al, yield strength up to 280MPa, which can fully meet the technical requirements of collision alloy aluminum of mainstream car companies at home and abroad.

It is understood that Minshi has also made a perfect layout for the recycled aluminum industry chain, on April 16 this year, the first green aluminum rod factory of Minshi green aluminum business landed in Anji, Zhejiang, officially opening a new journey of green aluminum manufacturing for minshi group vehicles, and Minshi overseas is also working intensively to layout green aluminum manufacturing.

Core aluminum technology helps Minshi's business to reach a higher level

Collision alloy aluminum as the core technology of battery box products, to help the battery box business expansion of good news. It is understood that since entering 2022, Minshi Group has won two German luxury brand battery box orders, superimposed on the previous orders, which has almost included the battery box business of the world's well-known car companies at home and abroad, and has undertaken more than 40 platform projects worldwide.

Based on the battery box, Minshi has comprehensively expanded its body and chassis structural parts products, as shown in Figure 6. At present, structural parts have covered Customers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen, obtained 8 global platform projects, and have undertaken orders with annual sales of more than 1 billion.

Facing the future, with the continuous deepening of Minshi Group in the field of high-performance aluminum alloy technology and the comprehensive layout of the industrial chain, we have reason to believe that its battery box, body and chassis structural parts performance is bound to grow rapidly. At the same time, we also expect Minshi Group to continue to innovate and research and develop to provide more powerful support for the independent and controllable supply of key industries in the automotive industry.
