Apple, on the other hand, is down 6 percent and Samsung is down 1 percent. Lenovo also saw a rare maximum decline, as high as 20%. However, Apple still dominates the tablet market, with research showing that the company sold no less than 15.8 million iPads in the quarter.

In the first quarter of 2022, Apple's iPad product shipments fell 6% year-on-year to 15.8 million units, and the global market share climbed 1.7 percentage points to 39%; compared with Apple's severely limited supply holiday quarter, shipments actually increased by 1% quarter-on-quarter.

There is also worrying news on Google's side. Strategy Analytics mentioned that demand for Android tablets is declining as the market share of these devices drops to only 50 percent.

Samsung was runner-up in the first quarter of 2022, successfully selling 8.2 million tablets in the quarter, earning a 20% share.
