Powered by the same 2.5-liter self-priming engine as the U.S. version of X-Trail, with a maximum output of 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, the Outlander models offer front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, both using CVT gearboxes. Of course, Mitsubishi still offers the Outlander PHEV version, which is based on the previous generation model, rather than on Nissan's platform.
