Weilai has also become the first car company to roll off the production line of 200,000 units of mass production vehicles among the new domestic car manufacturing forces.
In May 2018, NIO's first mass-produced car, the NIO ES8, officially rolled off the production line. 35 months later, in April 2021, NIO's 100,000th production vehicle rolled off the production line. Now, in just one year, the second 100,000 mass production vehicles have rolled off the production line again, and once again refreshed the record of new car-making forces.
Affected by this positive, Weilai ushered in an outbreak in the morning trading of Hong Kong stocks today. As of the lunch break, THEI-SW shares were quoted at HK$138, up more than 5%, and the company's latest market value reached HK$233.5 billion.
Since its birth, Weilai has always maintained the positioning of the high-end market, and the average selling price of its sales vehicles has been more than 400,000 yuan for a long time, even higher than the average selling price of "BBA" first-line luxury brands, so this milestone of "200,000 mass production cars" is still very gold-rich. The data shows that the sales volume of the whole year of 2021 ranked second among the new forces.
Li Bin, CEO of WEIO, is very confident in THE COMPETITIVEness of NIO in the market segment, and he once said, "At present, in the high-end market, there is no brand that can compete with NIO in an all-round way."
According to the plan, the new cars ET7, ET5 and ES7 built based on NIO's second-generation technology platform NT2 will be delivered one after another, and the new ES8, ES6 and EC6 models will also be equipped with the latest intelligent cockpit hardware, and old car owners can also upgrade them synchronously.
In terms of production capacity and investment, NIO's second production base is scheduled to be officially put into operation in the third quarter of this year, and it is expected to invest more than 100% in R&D expenditure in 2022, increase R&D personnel to 9,000 people, and add more than 100 sales outlets and 50 service centers and authorized service centers.
