According to a recent activision Blizzard proxy document with the U.S. government, which specifically mentions that Activision Blizzard and Microsoft management have not yet discussed Bobby Kotick's whereabouts.

Prior to the approval and execution of the Merger Agreement and its anticipated transaction, or after such approval and enforcement, as at the date of this Agreement, there was no discussion or negotiation with Microsoft regarding employment arrangements after the completion of the Transaction.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Kotic will leave Activision Blizzard. Official accounts say Kotick will stay with Activision Blizzard as CEO for the time being, but behind the scenes, management at Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have agreed to Kotic's departure after the deal closes.

IT House previously reported that people familiar with the matter said that Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick is being investigated by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for suspected insider trading.

Another source said both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard agreed that Kotic "will leave after the transaction is completed," which could take 12 to 18 months. If so, Kotic wouldn't have returned empty-handed. He holds nearly 4.1 million shares of Activision Blizzard, which are worth $388.9 million ($2.471 billion) at Microsoft's $68.7 billion purchase price.
