Micron launched GDDR6X with NVIDIA graphics cards, pushing bandwidth and capacity to the peak

Micron, a major U.S. memory manufacturer, today announced mass production of 16Gb GDDR6X memory, shipped on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. Compared to the 8Gb version, Micron's latest GDDR6X has doubled its memory capacity and improved performance by 15%, representing a more lifelike visual experience, high frame rate and excellent performance for memory-intensive applications.

Micron's 16Gb GDDR6X memory, housed in the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, will not only have 16GB of capacity, but also feature the industry's best 21Gb/s runtime and up to 24Gb/s performance blueprints, enabling early deployment for future data-intensive applications. In addition, Micron also took the lead in applying PAM4 signal technology to GDDR6X, achieving energy saving performance that is better than that of GDDR6 products on the market.

As gaming and drawing rendering techniques become more sophisticated, drawing processors require large amounts of data to run at high speeds, creating challenges for system drawing memory. Including virtual reality games, 4K and 8K screens with high frame rates at 240Hz, and enhanced 3D CAD applications, they are pushing the limits of drawing systems. GDDR6X brings lifelike effects to users with a high memory bandwidth that delivers ultra-high picture rates and near-instant high-resolution experiences. Combined with GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics, the GDDR6X improves instant light attention and neural-like plotting to create immersive cinematic effects in the virtual world. The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is powered by a 24GB GDDR6X and can perform 40 trillion floating-point operations per second (40Teraflops) gpu performance.

Micron revolutionized the way data is transmitted in memory with pioneering PAM4 signal transmission technology, resulting in the breakthrough bandwidth of GDDR6X. By introducing PAM4 signal technology, micron GDDR6X increases the system bandwidth to 1TB/s, making it the ideal choice for graphics applications, and no other memory vendor has yet to meet this standard.
