In 2019, Huawei opened up the ability it has accumulated on the server operating system for more than 10 years, and the Euler operating system was officially open sourced. On November 9, 2021, the Euler Open Source Operating System Project was officially donated to the Open Atom Open Source Foundation to move towards industrial co-construction and community autonomy. After the donation, the community has gathered global innovation forces in a more open mode and ushered in rapid development. Up to now, the Euler community has brought together more than 330 corporate partners, including chip manufacturers, machine manufacturers, operating system manufacturers, application software manufacturers, etc., attracting nearly 10,000 developers, setting up nearly 100 special interest groups, with more than 470,000 downloads worldwide and more than 55,000 PR combined, becoming a vibrant and innovative open source community. In terms of support for the diversity computing ecosystem, Euler has supported and will soon support all mainstream instruction sets in the world, becoming the preferred open source operating system for diversity computing.
Technological innovation, Euler's first full-scenario long-cycle version of digital infrastructure was released
The success of any open source project is inseparable from the coordinated development of technology, ecology and business, as well as cultural construction and talent training. Technological innovation is the driving force for the Euler community to maintain vitality, and the version is the actual carrier of technological innovation in the precipitated community.
In September 2021, Euler upgraded from a server operating system to an open source operating system for digital infrastructure, supporting server, cloud computing, edge computing, embedded and other application scenarios. Now, the community has delivered on its promise, and Euler's first full-scenario long-term version of digital infrastructure, openEuler 22.03 LTS, is officially released. This is the first community co-construction version after Euler's donation, and the first long-term version to support the full scenario of digital infrastructure. This version adopts a unified Linux Kernel 5.10 kernel, incorporates the commercially proven features of the first three innovative editions of the community, including EulerFS file system, memory-level extension etMem, lightweight container OS, etc., adds 23 million lines of code, and builds a distributed soft bus capability in Euler to achieve self-discovery and self-connection between Euler and Euler devices, and self-discovery of Euler and Hongmeng devices.

At present, Euler has been applied in government, operators, finance, energy, transportation, Internet and other industries, with a total of more than 1.3 million sets. According to the "China Server Operating System Market Research Report", in 2021, Euler will achieve the first new market share in the government and operator industries, and the first in the growth rate of the financial industry market. With the development of the community, the source of community contributors has become more diversified, and since Euler's donation, the proportion of non-Huawei contributions has continued to increase.
In order to clearly present the contribution of each member, the Euler Community Contribution Kanban board was officially launched. The content of the board includes PR, Issue, comments, etc., witnessing the love and support of every enterprise and every developer for Euler. Current software partners and hardware partners, in the compatibility verification of different operating systems, face the problem of lack of platformization, tooling and automation capabilities, and repeated testing, low test efficiency, and high computing cost. In order to help partners better complete compatibility verification, Euler ecological service platform is launched in the community to provide one-stop verification services for partners. On April 8, Jiangsu Kunpeng & Euler Ecological Innovation Center completed the compatibility verification of the first partner based on the Euler ecological service platform. At present, 15 products and solutions from 13 partners have been validated.

Jiang Dayong said in his speech that the Euler open source community has the responsibility to work with the Open Atom Open Source Foundation and open source partners to build the basic capabilities of China's open source system and continue to enhance it.
In the field of infrastructure, openEuler MOOCs are newly launched, providing convenience for developers who lack a real environment, so that they can use the real environment with a browser. The Euler Community Infrastructure team also greatly optimized the development experience, with full RPM builds optimized to 2 hours and ISO builds optimized to 30 minutes.
In terms of integration into the global open source ecosystem, as of now, 93% of mainstream open source projects have natively supported ARM; 90% of mainstream open source projects have been integrated into the Euler community. In addition, Euler also entered the OpenStack community as a CI operating system.
In terms of the construction of open source culture, the openEuler open source community and the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly launched the "Open Source Software Supply Chain Lighting Program" to encourage students to actively participate in the development and maintenance of open source software and promote the vigorous development of excellent open source software communities. The "Open Source Rainforest Project" that began in 2021 has received strong support from the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, Huawei, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the China Software Industry Association, helping enterprises quickly understand the concept of open source, master the practical method, and let more and more enterprises use open source and contribute to open source more efficiently.
Accelerate the development of Euler talents
Industrial development, talent-oriented. With the joint efforts of Huawei and other community partners, euler knowledge system has been integrated into 72 "smart base" university courses, and will continue to expand to 150 undergraduate colleges and 100 vocational colleges in 2022, cultivating a group of industrial talents who understand Euler and use Euler for enterprises.
This year, around the Euler operating system will release 5 textbooks and teaching aids, launch nearly 100 Euler crowd intelligence tasks, provide online/offline internship positions, and accelerate the development of Euler talents.
