In landscape painting, water generally does not need to be painted much, and the surrounding rocks and trees are highlighted, of course, some dynamic lines need to be added to the interior to reflect it. There are five main ways of water expression: ripple method, hook water method, water dyeing method, reflection method and blank method.
First, the ripple method
Water pattern sketching is different from cloud pattern sketching, and clouds are soft because of their spirituality and looseness, and water spirit. Therefore, when ticking the water pattern, use the pen to combine agility and stability, and the hook line is strong and smooth. Complexity and simplicity, stability, and error are determined by the requirements of the work, and the line organization structure is flexible and flexible.

Second, the water hook method
The water hook method is much the same as the ripple method, that is, the ink line is used to outline the water pattern. The line pen should be smooth and dexterous, the lines should be combined with virtual and real, there are intermittent and continuous, and the pen is broken. There are many variations in the shape of the hook method. For example, microwaves are often used for paintings, river water is often used for flat lines, and tiger claw patterns are commonly used for painting fury waves. When painting, we should pay attention to the perspective principle of larger near waves, smaller far waves, and no waves further away.

The method of leaving white space is to replace water with the white ground of paper, which is a unique expression of Chinese painting.
