For the newly opened Texas Gigafactory, Elon Musk revealed that the plant is the largest of all Tesla Gigafactories (allegedly covering an area of 4 times that of the Shanghai Gigafactory), with an initial planned production capacity of 500,000 units / year, while Model Y will occupy most of the production capacity, and the target capacity of the Texas Gigafactory in the future will reach 1 million units / year, which will also ensure that Tesla can increase the total production capacity to 2 million units / year in 2023.
