This has made the off-road vehicle market, which was not taken seriously, now seem to have a new vitality, and even the Beijing off-road, which has been marginalized by the market, has not willing to admit defeat and launched a new model - BJ60.

BJ60 is positioned as a medium and large SUV, using a non-load-bearing body structure, four-wheel independent suspension, up to three differential locks in front, middle and rear, is a positive eight-way hardcore off-road vehicle, model positioning and body size are close to the height of the tank 500.

The difference is that the price range of the BJ60 will be set at 200,000-350,000 yuan, which just avoids the range of the tank 500 and tries to open up a more affordable market for medium and large off-road vehicles.

This may be a lack of confidence in both its own products and brands, and you have to use a "field horse racing" strategy.

Because Beijing off-road has not created a blockbuster model since it became an independent car brand, coupled with the fact that its brand's influence in the domestic off-road vehicle market is also relatively general, if Beijing off-road does not lower the price threshold of BJ60 to the extent that it can attract off-road vehicle target consumers, the prospects of BJ60 must be at a loss.

Especially in contrast to the Great Wall's continuous launch of net red products, the market presence of Beijing's off-road has been low and there is not much room for regression. Even after the official launch of BJ60 on the market, I am afraid that this car brand that focuses on the off-road vehicle market will not be able to stir up big waves in the market.

Before writing this new car draft, I deliberately read a lot of netizens' views on BJ60 on the Internet, the original intention was to understand more deeply what netizens expect from this car, but I did not expect that the views I saw were mostly negative evaluations, and the four words "industrial garbage" were always filled in the comment areas of major platforms.

At this point, I am worried about the smoothness of the launch of Beijing off-road BJ60 in the future, because everyone has a bias against Beijing off-road that is difficult to correct, and whether the product is good or bad is no longer so important.

To roughly summarize the information that has been exposed so far, I think there are two reasons for everyone's dissatisfaction with it, the first is that the originality of the BJ60's design is not too high, and it is highly similar to JEEP's flagship SUV, the Grand Cherokee, from either point of view.

Coupled with the same iconic design between the two brands, perhaps the biggest difference between the Grand Cherokee and BJ60 exterior design is that the BJ60 uses an external spare tire design, of which the Grand Cherokee is more like an urban SUV, while the BJ60 is more of a hardcore off-road vehicle.

At the same time, although the specific body length, width and height parameters of the BJ60 are 5020/1955/1925mm, the wheelbase is 2800mm, which is in line with the level of a medium and large off-road vehicle. However, as a medium and large off-road SUV, the lower disc of the body not only does not show a strong enough sense of power, but also the four wheels even have a biased inward feeling, and the proportion of the entire hull and the lower disc is not coordinated enough.

The second is the power system of BJ60, the lack of R & D funds of Beijing off-road can not be like the Great Wall tank self-developed large-displacement multi-cylinder engine, so BJ60 had to be equipped with 2.0T diesel / gasoline engine + 48V light mix system, or extended range electric system, of which the light hybrid version of the model matches the 8AT gearbox, and the use of time-sharing four-wheel drive system.

For a medium and large off-road vehicle, the power system used by the BJ60 may be more "advanced", whether it is a 2.0T engine or a range extender electric system, it is difficult to meet the traditional off-road vehicle consumer group's attachment to large-displacement multi-cylinder engines. But the good news is that the power parameters of the BJ60 are not bad, the fastest acceleration time of 0-100km/h can be controlled between 6-7 seconds, and the maximum cruising range can exceed 1000km.

In addition, I am personally curious about whether there is a breakthrough in the chassis technology used by BJ60, because the accumulation of chassis technology has always been the weakest link of domestic off-road vehicles, and beijing off-road, which claims to focus on off-road vehicles, is no exception.

For example, it is pointed out that the chassis technology of the BJ80 model under Beijing Off-Road, which is highly close to the Mercedes-Benz Big G, is derived from the Mitsubishi Pajero speedcar model. You know, the Pajero Speed Run is an old off-road model that was established more than 20 years ago, and the chassis technology has long been unable to keep up with the pace of the times, and Mitsubishi Motors eliminated that product more than a decade ago.

It is conceivable how weak the accumulation of Beijing off-road in the chassis technology level, if BJ60 fails to achieve a qualitative breakthrough, then Beijing off-road will seek more blessings, chassis technology and product durability must be the most important part of off-road vehicle users.
