On the evening of April 5, Ubisoft unveiled the first promotional video for Rainbow Six M and opened the Early Access application channel.
It has been four years since the R6 (Rainbow Six: Siege) mobile game released the news, and judging by Ubisoft's strength, this is likely to be a "high-end can".
Advance warning
In fact, from the observation of Ubisoft in recent years, the aura brought to them by masterpieces such as "Assassin's Creed" and "Far Cry" is gradually disappearing, especially "Far Cry 6" in 2021 has made them gain a "cannery" label.
In addition, FPS games are inherently difficult to adapt to the gamepad or touch operation, but the details of R6 are very demanding, so this is also a point that Uncle Monster is more worried about.
Then there is no real demonstration in this promotional video, it can be seen that most of the pictures are from the PC side; and Ubisoft has also had many "picture wrong version" operations before, and I understand everything.
But in theory, mobile games were once a big business for Ubisoft, and although Gameloft has become Vivendi's industry, I prefer to believe that this traditional craft has finally returned to Ubisoft.
Compared with R6, a slightly competitive FPS game, Uncle Monster will personally be more interested in The Division M;
Veteran players may know that R6's PC-end Asian suit has "inexplicably" harmonized some in-game elements before, and those elements themselves are innocuous, which makes it seem that Ubisoft has some snakes.
If most of R6M's work is focused on harmony, then most of the above concerns about this new tour are not untargeted.
Introduction to IP
From the first version of "Rainbow Six" to the emergence of derivative works such as "Siege" and "Xenomorph", this IP has actually been precipitated for a long time.
In the entire Rainbow Six IP, the most outstanding is "Rainbow Six: Siege".
Since its official launch in 2015, the R6 has come a long way, with new cadres, new maps, new BUGs, and stitches patched for another three years.
But the core of the game has never changed: two well-equipped special forces are engaged in a 5v5 battle on a map.
R6 is different from CS:GO and COD in that each operator has a unique special skill (except for new cadres), and players need to give full play to the advantages of the operator and have a good understanding of the building layout and the construction of the wall material to increase the probability of winning.
There is a period of time before the game officially begins, during which time the main action of the defender is to strengthen the defense and place traps, while the attacker mainly uses remote control vehicles/drones for reconnaissance.
Most of the games in the game are played in buildings, in addition to scenes such as stranded ships, and multiple different maps can give players a different experience in each game.
Profit model
Uncle Monster personally speculates that the profit model of "R6M" is likely to follow the form of PC skin and new cadre payment.
Or the "pass" that currently exists in most mobile games.
However, the "season pass" model on the PC side may not necessarily be used in mobile games, because most mobile gamers have rarely touched this payment method for the time being.
Here's an explanation of the meaning of the season pass payment: the season pass payment is generally equivalent to all the follow-up content launched this year, you will automatically have, no need to buy repeatedly; simply put, it is the premium version of the "pass"
However, mobile game platforms may have become accustomed to using traditional "passes" to increase players' online rate and activity, so personal speculation about the payment model of season passes will mostly not be used in mobile games.
All in all, even if Ubisoft has been a bit "mediocre" in recent years, the outstanding gameplay and game mechanics of Rainbow Six can still make people look forward to it; perhaps it still has to go through some "pain" in terms of mobile adaptation, but I believe that every player hopes that R6M can bring us different surprises.
