—— IGN: When did you come up with the idea of making a mobile game version of Rainbow Six: Siege, and what was the planning process?

Casey: The game has been in development for three years, and we can't wait to see players get involved. Fans have been calling out a Rainbow Six mobile game for a long time, and we've seen many great IPs succeed in the mobile game market lately. In addition, while making Siege a free mobile game, we have the opportunity for many new players to discover Rainbow Six: Siege's unique fast-paced tactical gameplay style, and also allow fans to experience the game in a new way, experience new features, new modes, shorter tournaments, and more.

The game was designed to deliver a silky, natural handling experience on iOS and Android. We spent a lot of time researching, adjusting various factors such as screen space, player movements, device volume, performance, etc., in order to bring the best experience possible to everyone.

IGN: How was the game developed and how involved was the console team?

Casey: Rainbow Six M inherits the gameplay of Rainbow Six: Siege, but at the same time is a brand new game. The game is a team of mobile game development experts from 11 studios around the world, developed specifically for iOS and Android devices. Can't wait to see players enter Rainbow Six M to hear what they think!

IGN: Fans think the work is an interesting challenge to the series, what do you think of that?

Casey: The first-person shooter mobile game itself is an interesting idea with many challenges, and it's a really cool thing for players to experience Rainbow Six in this way. I think we were very successful in bringing Rainbow Six to mobile.

My experience playing Rainbow Six M in the beta was great, and the energy and skill the developers put into the test game was amazing, and I was thrilled to think that real players would soon be able to play the game. We even held internal competitions to do some competitive confrontations. I'm excited to see this game bring joy to both competitive and casual players.

—— IGN: What is the most prominent highlight of this work?.

Casey: Rainbow Six M will add some new features to the mobile game, including new modes, specially optimized controls and maps, fast-paced matches, content updates independent of other versions, and more. The game is also designed for iOS and Android devices, so it comes with a series of features that simplify gameplay for mobile devices, but also retains the core experience of Rainbow Six: Siege.

One of the two most important control changes is the addition of Tactical Focus Fire mode, which allows players to focus more on movement and tactical positioning than just pressing buttons. The second change was the automatic movement system, such as sprint lock, auto sprint, and auto-roll over, which saved my life in many cases. The Sound Compass is also a very important new tool that gives players the advantage of muting their phones. In short, there are many cool features waiting for players to discover.

IGN: What is the size of the map?

Casey: Popular maps from Siege, such as Bank and Border, will be returned in Rainbow Six M and will be playable at launch. We put a lot of effort into making sure Siege players find a familiar feel in these maps.

To ensure the best experience for players, we've made some changes to the layout and design of the map. For example, although the structure of these maps is similar to that in Siege, the ladders and spiral staircases have been removed or replaced because too much complexity has been added, and these changes are to reduce the component of "aiming at people", without having to get stuck in the gap between the two railings to find a precise gap to shoot. Some common points and angles have also been changed to improve rendering performance.

These changes have been carefully tested and balanced to ensure that the changed map allows players to use tactics and strategies the same as in Siege. In fact, when I play Siege, I lament how similar the experiences are between the two.

IGN: Is there anything that can't be ported except for the graphics?

Casey: Rainbow Six M faithfully restores Rainbow Six: Siege, and fans should be very familiar with this game. The operator's abilities and items, drones, cameras, and other gameplay features are largely consistent with Rainbow Six: Siege. The controls are also optimized for mobile devices, but they are very similar. As for the difference between the two, some changes have been made in the map layout and details to improve performance and player experience, and the pace of the game has been adjusted to ensure excitement.

I was particularly impressed with the destruction mechanics, a system not seen in many shooters, let alone on mobile devices. This mechanic added a lot of tactical elements to Rainbow Six: Siege, and now we're bringing it to mobile devices as well. Whether in Siege or Rainbow Six M, I used destructible walls to sneak up on enemies to reverse defeats, or to run around and break through all the walls that could be destroyed to force the enemy to adapt to a new battlefield. We are confident that Rainbow Six: Siege fans will enjoy the same highly tactical and intense Rainbow Six experience in Rainbow Six M.

IGN: How wide will the squad and weapon selection be?

Casey: Fans' hot executives will be available at the time of rainbow six M release, including familiar characters from Siege. Siege fans will be able to play as their favorite operators, use signature items and abilities, and play on banks or border maps. Some of my favorite cadres will be transplanted. We will share more information about the lineup of cadres as we approach the launch.

IGN: What else do you want to share with us?

Casey: Of course, rainbow six M is focused on bringing the rainbow six siege experience to players on iOS and Android, and I believe the team has largely achieved that goal. The experience I enjoyed most while playing Rainbow Six M came during a regular test battle. I played the defender and the last teammate at the point, and there was very little time left. The attacking side chose the tactic of thick and thin, swarming into the point from a hole in the wall, and I thought we were going to lose. I rushed to the wall to kill one of the enemies on the opposite side, then turned around and hit the other two opponents unprepared. After returning to the bunker inside the target point, I caught a glimpse of the last of the attackers through a small hole in the corridor outside, so I broke through the wall and killed the enemy in an instant. Killed the entire opposing team in less than 20 seconds.

It was one of the most intense matches I've played so far, and I think this is a good example of how mobile games can capture the signature tactics and tension of Siege. Especially the experience of a game that is nearing the end of a game where the situation changes rapidly in milliseconds. We're confident that we'll make new players and Rainbow Six: Siege fans fall in love with Rainbow Six M." The closed A test will open soon, and we encourage all players to register on the official website for the opportunity to qualify and receive our latest news.
