In the digital age, industrial digitalization is the key engine to promote the development of the digital economy, and the main growth driver of telecom operators. According to China Telecom's 2021 financial report data, industrial digitalization contributed 51.6% to incremental service revenue, accounting for 24.6% of revenue. Ke Ruiwen, chairman of China Telecom, said that in 2022, China Telecom will maintain the growth rate of industrial digital revenue in 2021, and the target will land 1500-2000 customized network projects. Facing the next three years, we will strive to achieve more than 30% of the revenue of industrial digitalization.

Whether it is the current double rise in revenue and profit, or the expectation of future industrial digital growth, behind it is inseparable from scientific and technological innovation. Focusing on the value demands of different customer groups such as individuals, families, industries, urban and rural areas and society, China Telecom has strengthened the innovative application of digital information technology and launched a series of digital applications based on cloud-network integration, empowering thousands of industries and promoting economic and social transformation and upgrading. The digitalization of China's telecommunications industry shows its strength

Whoever controls the numbers controls the future. "China is in a period of rapid digital economy development." Shangguan Yafei, general manager of China Telecom's government and enterprise information service business group, said.

In the era of digital economy, after experiencing the first transformation of "from voice management to traffic management", telecom operators with cloud-network integration capabilities will usher in another transformation opportunity to break through the dilemma of incremental income in the current traffic management model. Industrial digitalization is the most important part of operators' transformation. According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology research, industrial digitalization accounts for an average of 83.9% of the digital economy in 47 countries.

In terms of industrial digitalization, China Telecom has always been at the forefront of the industry. According to the data of multiple analyst institutions, China Telecom ranks first in the industry in the field of industrial digitalization, and is the largest public cloud of IDC service providers and operators in China. According to China Telecom's financial report data, in 2021, the digital business revenue of China's telecom industry reached 98.9 billion yuan, an increase of 19.4% year-on-year. The 5G custom network commercial project has covered all 15 key industries of the 5G application "Sail" action plan, and more than 1,200 projects have been landed throughout the year. Tianyi Cloud's revenue was 27.9 billion yuan, an increase of 102% year-on-year, ranking first in the industry and first in the government affairs public cloud market.

Deepening scientific and technological innovation is the engine

China Telecom's leadership in industrial digitalization is inseparable from innovation.

On the one hand, China Telecom continues to deepen the base capability, form a capability hub through the three major platforms of business, data and security, establish an intensive digital platform capability base, and on this basis support a number of general product platforms and atomic power platforms such as Zhuge AI platform, call center platform, video cloud, etc., to achieve atomic supply of capabilities. On the other hand, China Telecom has used the strength of the group to lay out the industry digital platform to help the digital transformation of the industry, and at present, China Telecom has built three key sector industry digital platforms, and built core digital platforms in more than 10 sub-sectors.

It is worth noting that since the large-scale commercial use of 5G, China Telecom's 5G application is gradually showing its energy from point to surface, from 1 to N. With the help of "Ghrepower", "Neighbor" and "Ruyi" customized network broadband connection, high speed, low latency and data security, China Telecom has created key scenarios such as flexible production, 8K ultra-high-definition intelligent quality inspection, AGV intelligent logistics and transportation, and remote connection control of unmanned equipment, and widely empowered the digital transformation and upgrading of industrial Internet, media integration, smart city, intelligent mining, Internet of Vehicles, smart medical care, smart port and other industries. At present, China Telecom has built about 200 5G benchmark projects, and 1200 projects have been copied throughout the year.

Continuous innovation empowers the future

At present, the digital economy contains a broad space, "East numbers and west counting" and other national projects and macro policies are conducive to the high-quality development of the industry, the industry has made great progress in rational competition, co-construction and sharing, digital life and industrial transformation and upgrading needs have exploded, and the information and communication industry has ushered in new historical opportunities.

Confidence in the development of the digital economy is also driving China Telecom's optimization of future capital expenditure structure. Ke Ruiwen said that in 2022, China Telecom will make precise investments and focus on new growth points, mainly to strengthen investment in industrial digitalization, accounting for 30% of the 93 billion capital expenditure of the whole year.
