The information shows that Bcomp's innovative material uses flax fiber, a bio-based material. Compared to ordinary plastic parts, it is significantly reduced in weight, energy use and emissions, while also providing an aesthetically pleasing surface design.
Volvo Concept Recharge has used Bcomp materials, and calculations show that it has reduced its weight by 50%, reduced its consumption by 70% and reduced its CO2 emissions by 62% compared to plastic materials.
