The rose has not yet opened, but the sentence "the heart has a tiger, smell the rose" appears frequently, probably because of the Year of the Tiger. It is from the masterpiece of the English poet WestGreve Sasson, "To Me, Past, Present and Future", which was originally "In me the tiger sniffs the rose." The poet Yu Guangzhong translates it as: There is a tiger in the heart, and the roses are sniffed.
Every time I read it, I have a strong sense of picture. This poem is concrete and subtle in the form of words that many philosophers cannot explain: the tiger will also have a time to sniff the roses, and the busy and ambitious ambition will be impressed by gentleness and beauty, and feel the good in peace.
This should be the ideal state of life. It can move and be still, it can flex and stretch, it can smile and cry, it can be as complex as modern people, and it can be as innocent as the ancients.
Immersed in the text, the so-called "Willow Bank, Dawn Wind and Moon" and "Great River East" are the footnotes of the two temperaments of "Tiger" and "Rose". In fact, every writer has more or less two temperaments, but the proportions are different.
Dongpo is not all "big river going east", there are also "laughter gradually fades away, amorous but is ruthlessly annoyed" and "embroidery curtain open, a little bright moon peeping" such sentences that are only suitable for seventeen or eighteen-year-old women to chant, and The first half of Liu Yong's "Xiaofeng Remnant Moon", that sentence "Twilight is heavy and chu tiankuo", who can say that it is graceful? Wang Wei won with lightness, as if he did not eat human fireworks, but he also had the heroic righteousness of "turning three thousand miles in one body and once serving as a million divisions with one sword"; and Du Fu, in addition to "depression and frustration", he was a person who was extremely sensitive and meticulous to beauty. As long as life gives him a moment of peace, his eyes will find some surprising beauty, even if it is very small.
He also likes flowers and plants. In the grass hall of Chengdu, he wrote, "Green weeping wind folding bamboo shoots, red blooming rain and fat plum", you see, there are green and red, eye-catching abnormalities, and "bloom", and "fat", fresh and amiable.
This is still the Du Fu who "the stars are hanging in the plains and the wilderness is wide, and the moon is gushing and the river is flowing", so that a poet is alive in our minds, not only the big sections, but also the details.
This love for a flower and a leaf not only does not affect his great love, but also makes his love for the motherland and the people more flesh-and-blood and more touchable.
In commenting on Tolstoy, some critics used the folk proverb to distinguish between the two types of writers, which is another interpretation of "tiger" and "rose". "Hedgehog" writers believe that the "sincerity" of art is the first, they are masters of writing happiness, but it is difficult to truly express people's unhappiness; "fox- type" writers believe that "sincerity" may be a false proposition, "true" is more important than "sincerity", and division, complexity, and wandering are "real". The kind of glittering Balzac-esque and Hugo-esque figures who meet the criteria of "goodness" but not exactly meet the criteria of "truth", they are masters of writing misfortunes, but they have lost the ability to obtain happiness.
How can it be sincere and authentic? Be a fox who wants to be a hedgehog, a tiger that sniffs roses, and a gentle side when you go forward. Starry sky sunset mountains, these scenery that will not change in a person's life, are already beautiful. And in life, there are always small things that make you feel excited, keep a sensitive heart, in order to hear the twilight lurking, spring grass sprouting, in order to see that there is always a flower around you.
Now I understand why the ancestors arranged the Qingming Festival at such a time. Walking in the field, the eyes will see farther, perceive more movement, hear the most delicate sounds, and the skin can feel the changes in wind and temperature. Even if you stay at home, silently praise the spring greetings from all over the circle of friends. It is also possible to fantasize that all those who have passed away will return through the spring, even including those who have passed away, as if all things were reborn.
