In 2019, Qoros sold 22,700 units, a sharp decline of 64%; in 2020, Qoros sales were 13,100 units, a further decline. In the first half of 2021, Qoros sold only 4,380 vehicles. Is Baoneng building a car or a land enclosure?

In addition to holding Qoros, Baoneng also acquired Shenzhen-based Changan PSA in 2020 at a total cost of 10 billion yuan. Qoros has an automobile production base in Changshu, and the fixed assets alone are worth a lot. Chang'an PSA, located in Longhua District, Shenzhen, has three pieces of land for vehicles, R&D and logistics, totaling about 1.37 million square meters, of which 700,000 square meters of logistics land area has not yet been built. Baoneng acquired Changan PSA, and the value of the land alone is immeasurable.

Since 2017, Baoneng has been frantically acquiring land in Guangzhou, Xi'an, Kunming, Hangzhou, Kunshan and Guiyang in the name of building cars. Its car-making bases and projects cover an area of nearly 9,000 mu, with a total area of 4,574,400 square meters, including 81,500 square meters of residential land.

According to media reports, although the progress of Baoneng Automobile Base is slow, the related real estate projects are progressing rapidly. Baoneng Automobile's Xi'an base has not yet been completed, and Baoneng's real estate less than 2 kilometers away from the base has been put on sale.
