Folgore's electrification strategy landed, and Maserati sought a new transformation

Transformation requires courage, especially for established car companies, which have deep technical accumulation and fixed consumer groups. Change means that breakthroughs and risks coexist; but they do not change, only gradually move towards extinction. In the era of electrification, the representative of the Italian sports car in our impression, Maserati, is also seeking a new opportunity in the process of breaking the cocoon into a butterfly.

Looking back, Maserati's results in 2021 are gratifying.

In 2021, Maserati's total sales increased by 41% year-on-year, in North America and China, the two largest markets for the Maserati brand, with a growth rate of nearly 50% in the Us market and more than 60% in the Chinese market compared to 2020.

The global market share increased to 2.4%, with North America and China accounting for 2.9% and 2.7% respectively; total sales increased significantly, with a total of 24,269 units delivered to global owners, a significant increase of 41% year-on-year; adjusted operating margin of 5.1%, and net revenue of EUR 2,021 million.

In addition, Maserati has also launched hybrid models - Maserati Ghibli GT Sharp Edition and Levante GT Sharp Edition, which are sought after by the market, further improving the brand's product matrix. The MC20 began to be delivered, MCA launched new models, and the update of existing models (including GT, Modena and Trofeo versions) are all contributing to the sports luxury that Maserati is rooted in people's hearts.

On March 22, another blockbuster product will meet the public - the Grecale SUV. The core concept of "seeing new life" makes it open up a new segment on behalf of the Trident brand and reach more new customers.

The new Grecalle follows the maserati tradition of naming maserati models after the wind, meaning a fierce northeast wind sweeping across the Mediterranean.

There are three versions of the Maserati Grecale (internal combustion engine, hybrid powertrain, and upcoming all-electric version):

GT version, equipped with a four-cylinder light hybrid engine powered by up to 300 horsepower;

Modena edition, equipped with a 330 hp four-cylinder light hybrid engine;

The Trofeo edition is powered by a high-performance V6 engine with a maximum output of 530 hp, which is based on the "Nettuno Poseidon" engine on the Maserati MC20 Supercar.

The future release of the Maserati Grecale pure electric version will use 400V technology.

At the upcoming Beijing Auto Show, Maserati will bring the Gregale SUV to the exhibition, so that domestic consumers can take the lead in seeing it.

Looking ahead, 2022 is a new starting point for Maserati.

In the era of electrification, Maserati is seeking a new transformation, and Folgore's electrification strategy is the brand's positive response to the surging wave of electrification in the industry.

Folgore represents a burst of new energy that propels the Trident brand into a broader future. Again, it is also the purest expression of the Maserati philosophy, as luxurious as ever, while uncompromising performance. Maserati's purity is about taking performance and luxury to a whole new level, and at the same time, purity means being environmentally friendly, meaning minimizing the impact on the environment.

The first pure electric model, the GranTurismo, was designed, developed and manufactured 100% in Italy, while introducing cutting-edge technology from Formula E, with a total output of more than 1200 horsepower. State-of-the-art lightweight technology is applied to the car's architecture, body and engine, using Formula E inverters to optimize the layout of the battery pack. Although the traditional internal combustion engine has been replaced by an electric motor, maserati's tuning has given no less driving pleasure, and its pure electric characteristics have taken GranTurismo's performance and luxury to a whole new level.

Of course, Martha's ambitions don't stop there, with the launch of the GranTurismo, Grecale and GranCabrio electric models in 2023, followed by an all-electric version of the MC20 supercar, the new Quattroporte president sedan and the all-new Levante SUV. They will be designed by the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena and will be produced by the production center in Turin as well as the Moldena plant.

By 2025, all Maserati models will be available in a 100% all-electric version.

Regarding Maserati's iconic sound wave, the tradition will continue, even if the motor replaces the internal combustion engine, the pure electric model that the official will launch will also have a unique sound wave. Whoever sits in the Maserati will never be indifferent to the incomparable sound that roars from the engine.

An innate spirit of innovation, a unique design aesthetic and an indelible passion have created a respected brand.

Maserati's original intention is to combine excellent performance and luxurious experience, even if the times change, the original intention is still the same, and the "Ma" gallops towards the vision of "electrification of all its new models".
